Wave is alive and well down here in so cal... If anything anytime I talk to a random corvette owner a lot of them read the forum so they know what's up. Pretty much anytime I get near a cool car (stoplight, see someone loading up some grocery etc) I always try to give a compliment. I'm like a mosquito in the light when it comes to bad *** cars.
kindness is contagious and a moral booster! Just go out and be nice to everyone! Even if they are ******! #notOnMyLevel
I say I get waves about 80% of the time here in Westchester, NY.
I also got ran down by a guy on a Harley who just wanted to pull up alongside of me and scream "Corvettes rule the road, man!" over and over at me. He was so excited when I gave him the thumbs-up. Fun times.

I’ve been driving Corvettes for 55 years, the “wave” was alive and well until the C6 Corvette. Now it’s just easier to flash the lights like the big boys do. No wave here!
Why do Corvette owners drive so stupid?
Following a JackAzz from Indiana in a 45MPH zone along the Nantahala river, we saw massive speeds up to but not beyond 30MPH... Down to 15MPH.
US74 is a highway. Are there not rivers in Indiana?
Why not set the Cruise control and hold the speed.
This went on for ten miles until they turned into a tourist trap. Jerks! It was like driving behind a group of Corvettes on Deal's Gap.
I have had that happen more than once. Drive they drive the dragon at 20 mph tops. A couple weeks ago a WI Porsche club was driving it super slow.

The last time I drove this particular circuit I got stuck in a caravan doing from 10-15 MPH under the limit. As cars would pass in the short passing areas available I eventually worked myself to the point where I could see the culprit causing the backup.
Much to my chagrin it was the stereotype reinforcing elderly Corvette driver in a C6 vert, putt putting along and oblivious to the traffic backup. (an I'm no spring chicken, either)
See that all the time in the Smokey Mountains, western NC, East TN and North GA. 10 or more under the speed limit and no clue there are 15 to 20 cars backed up behind them.
It's not as important that THEY wave as it is that YOU do.
*****Like so many things in life, we can only control what *we* do; how others choose to react is beyond our control.*****
I get probably a 50% return on waves here in Las Vegas. I just choose to think that perhaps they are new to the Corvette world, and if enough OTHER Corvette drivers wave at them, they might get the message that it's a thing!
Depends which way your hand is facing. The "V" could be for victory. I've done the "V" wave, it's quick.
Had a funny incident -- another Corvette was merging onto the freeway, so I pulled up next to him and paced him for a bit. He completely ignored me! Some drivers are no fun.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
