Mechanic said he thinks the owner drove it hard on down shifts. He said the issues never happened unless downshifting. So he suspects he was going fast and downshifted hard. But that this is a racecar and should be able to handle that. He also mentioned he thought GM had a bad batch of diffs go through a year ago and may be another reason for the second replacement.
Carbon fiber dual roof package was a $2995 option that included the exposed carbon fiber roof and the transparent top. The owner of the above vehicle sold the transparent top and kept the better looking exposed carbon fiber top, The latter top was selling for upwards of $5000 at one time--now can be had for $24-2500.
The owner definitely did not drive it hard on downshifts nor was he driving fast and downshifting hard. Mechanic wrong on both accounts. Statement on bad diffs probably correct. Check the clutch packs also.

Thoughts?

That is my thought...Good Luck to ya..You may need it
By the time they post here announcing their imminent purchase, they're already in too deep. Nothing usually stops 'em from buyers-fever....Sad.
I have been looking for a car since march and have posted on here many times and still don't have one. Be careful who you generalize; especially if all you had to do was do a quick search for my posts asking about opinions.
Texas Auto in Houston has a 2015 with 21k probably buy for 43-44. yellow gray

Thank Hope. I want one pretty bad, but gray interior is definately a deal breaker. No offense to anyone, but I think that color looks disgusting (as i am sure others think the same with kalahari). And anything after 2015 is not really option. They changed the yellow to a washed out color in my opinion. So unless they changed it back later on, its 14 or 15 for me.
Now if they released the ZR1 orange for the stingray, I could hold out of that color. Its about time someone did an orange right!

So hard to wait and wait.....but i am staring to feel this way too. All the extra options keep pulling at me though. If I got them to include a cpo it may be worth it. Not sure yet.
Well, I'm no authority on pricing. You've certainly made it clear you're tired of searching, so I'm not going to suggest to continue searching. And you don't like the "new" yellow (I'm not a fan, either). Same for the orange, I guess.
But the price for that one seems high to me. BUT, you've set quite a hard task finding a '14 or '15 because of the yellow you like.
Given the price they are asking, the weird diff problem (fixed or maybe not and what is the real reason... weird to me) and the accident. That would be enough to make me walk.
When I started getting serious about mine, I wanted the old Yellow, too, or the Daytona Sunrise color and I looked at the replacement colors in person and still didn't like them. So, I chose another color. Perhaps you need to change that requirement to a variable based on finding the color of interior you want as well as a better price AND no maintenance or accident records.

I hear ya. It is just one of those things that I can't seem myself spending that much money on a car. There is other things I would want to spend my money than a car at 75k. But if I can get one that at half the cost, I am more open to it. Even though I can afford a new one, I just don't want too. But as you pointed out, it does add some stress finding one and maybe for the first few months of ownership. But my last 3 cars have been good investments. They are still running and reliable. The 3rd I was able to sell for almost double what i paid and I ran out of garage space. So... I took the offer. lol
Wasn't the price $42-43k? If so, they lowered it to $41,988.
Ya they lowered. They showed me a screen that showed the are under cost already with their trade and prep work. This told me they wouldn't pay for the labor to CPO the car, which was $500. Now the car is that much lower. These guys are not making me feel confident in their integrity.
I'd laugh loudly at them when they say "cost, labor, blah..." - and reply, do you want to sell the car TODAY, or have it sit all winter long??
Like someone mentioned earlier, they're still gonna tack on BS fees. Ask for a out the door/total drive out price. If it sounds good to you, great, if not, move on.
Holiday, and end of month is coming up very soon.

Randy has a brand new 2016 yellow 2LT stingray they have been sitting on for 3 years because they refuse to make a deal on it. They are ridiculous to try to work with. They don't even want to let you test drive a car.
