I bought mine used so yes. I hadn't planned on letting anyone else drive it ever but my son (28) has already asked if he could drive it and he never asked to drive either of my last 2 SRTs (both Chargers) so I guess he really likes it. I told him when the weather is warm and the tires are sticky he can drive it. It's already in storage for the winter.
I do have a funny story about lending my 1980 L82 to a buddy of mine 25 years ago. He owned a pickup truck and I had the Vette. I needed to go pick up a piece of furniture from a relative of my GF at the time in another city so we agreed to swap vehicles for the day on a Saturday. We worked together and finished our shift Friday night at 11pm so we did the swap in the parking lot at work and I told him I'd call him Saturday afternoon when I was done with the truck. Well I called his house (he still lived with his parents) and his Mom told me he wasn't home he had gone to Niagara Falls for the weekend. I said "In my Vette???" Yep. What a cheeky ******! He had it all planned he went straight from work Friday night to pick up his GF and they went to the Falls for the weekend in my Vette....
No problem letting people drive my M7 Z06...it’s great sharing the experience. No problem letting my son take it out by himself. Here’s a pic of us rolling out into the TX Hill Country last weekend...I’m in the slow white car.
I found my ‘16 C7 on the internet at a Chev dealership about 20 miles from my house in Auburn WA. I was working in NorCal at the time so asked my wife to drive over to check it out in person. She liked it so I bought it based just on what she said. She went to the dealer, signed all the paperwork and drove it home (A8). She has been the only person other than the Corvette tech at the dealership up in Enumclaw to drive it. Reading the above posts, I couldn’t imagine letting it out of my sight the way some have.
Mine's a stick, so no casual loans. However, my younger brother is an experienced manual driver so he's driven it, but with me along for the ride. His wife also is good with manuals so she's welcome to drive if if the opportunity arises.
I believe in sharing so whoever is in my life that is proficient with a stick is welcome to drive it with me. Only my best friend has driven it so far but he has tons of experience with a vipor so he was really prepared and what a smile he had
Both my adult sons, 27 and 31 in age. Only instruction: this thing weighs as much as your car but has three times the horsepower. Make sure the wheels are pointed straight ahead before you floor it.
One has driven only around town, the other about 200 miles from my home to the family cottage in northern Michigan. He was driving from out of state, stayed overnight at our house on the way, and I suggested he just leave his Dart and drive the C7 to the cottage instead. No damage in either case.
Wife hasn't yet driven, is a little worried about the sight lines.
Sure... It's a daily driver and I want to share the joy of driving such a thrilling vehicle. So far it's been limited to family members. Tossed the fob to my son and told him to take his sister to the restaurant where we were meeting up. He's driven 800+ hp European cars and knows to respect high performance. We tailed them for a bit then he took off. The sound of the "song of the Z" sounds almost as good from the outside as inside.
Curious if you guys feel comfortable handing the keys over to someone else. Throughout the years my neighbor has helped me with many home repairs, takes care of my dog, and keeps an eye on my home when we're out of town. He dropped a couple hints about how he's never driven, or even been a passenger in any generation Corvette. I told him well today's your lucky day. It so happened to be his 20th anniversary. I filled up the tank, handed him the keys and told him to go get his wife and take her out in the C7. Four hours later he returned with the biggest smile on his face. I will admit I was a nervous wreck. And it was the longest four hours of my life! But that stupid grin on his face was priceless.
Actually I give my Z06s to some of my friends. I trust them, but I wouldn't do it for anybody else.

Good point. So everyone's C7 has really been driven by someone else. Since I picked up my '14, I have offered a few friends to drive it, but no body has taken me up on it because of the stick.

Only my wife so far. She drove 2 parts of the Texas Twisted Sisters, I did the other. I'd let my daughter drive it, with me in the car. Have a few of friends I'd let drive it, again with me in the car.
Let my former boss drive my 2004 z06 but he's an auto across addict so he can drive. Trying to talk my son into driving my 2019 Grand Sport. He's afraid to but he will.
