A near neighbor is also a gear head, and this year drove me up the dealer so that I could pick up my 2016 Z06, a manual. So, a few weeks later I let him drive it around our area for a few miles, but I was in the passenger seat. He did not hold back. By this time I was just getting used to the power, but it's a whole different (frightening) experience in the right hand seat!

Yep. My son bought a 370Z a few years ago and took me for a ride in it. He's a very skilled driver as he tracks all his cars but he scared the **** out of me. I got back home and said to Mrs Flex "I guess I know how you feel now!"
Everyone has driven my C7. My wife, my dad, my brothers. Friends, aquintances, I even let 2 local charities auction off a night on the town with it each year (usually generates $600-700). These cars are meant to be enjoyed. The more people who drive it, the more people who aspire to own one some day, the less taboo they become, the stronger the brand, the more likely Corvette lives on into the future.
OH! I almost forgot this but my exwife used my 2004 LeMans Blue convertible to move furniture with the top down. I didn’t know about this plan until I saw the car full of stuff. The stuff was stacked up and left dents in the upholstery backing. This was in 2005, the car was new as can be and we were married at the time. She couldn’t understand why I was pissed.
Since then, I keep keys in a locked box and hide the key for that box.
No wonder you are divorced now. It goes beyond the furniture moving, it goes to how you blocked her out, instead of her feeling comfortable enough to ask you to help her move furniture (presumably for your joint home at the time).

I would let my brother, or even a close friend, drive my car, but in the case of a friend, I'm not sure I would so so without being in the passenger seat.
