#1 radar detector
He said they assume all sports cars have detectors and they are also skilled re jammer locations! No issue with detectors BUT jammers could be a significant fine. Worse is if you have anything covering your license plate, like a clear plastic cover OR in SC (and some other states) a license plate frame that covers, "Any Part of Any Letter or Number." Ticket. That is what the Law says. The justification is they are NOT going to have an Officer guess your state etc when they put your plate number in to a data bank before approaching your car. They are also not going to guess which plate cover may distort Red Light cameras so all covers are illegal.
BUT the main reason my friend tells me plate cover violations are useful to them is it gives them a good reason to stop you, give a $125 fine and search for "other stuff!" They are usually in the I95 South Bound Lane North of I20 as they really don't want drugs- can't do anything with those! They prefer drug money and have drug sniffing dogs ready to find any evidence! They also have a van equipped to do a Pee test!
All of those darked out window, unmarked black SUV's with no red lights visible until they are tuned on and seen inside the SUV, they use have been confiscated over the years! They also get a lot on money, some of which, like the cars can be confiscated!
Changed to a perimeter frame after I saw in the newspaper they were giving cars parked in Myrtle Beach $125 tickets for "unlawful" plate frames/covers!

Is a V1 "similar" to a Passport 9500CI remote? The V1 is mounted up beside my RVM; the Passport's remote detector head is down in the "mouth" in front of the radiator, out of sight to the casual glance. The readouts are in the ashtray pocket of my C6.
As to the Blend mount: popular, but I don't like it at all because I have trouble enough seeing under my RVM when in a right turn, especially a climbing right curve. I'm 6' tall and even with my seat set as low as it will go (without bottoming out) I have to duck my head to see under it in those circumstances.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I am holding out for the R7 to actually get in the hands of a few before buying it, as it is expensive, but I figure that would pay for itself after the first ticket skirted as the Ins rate over a few years would kill me more than the ticket, if I am going more than 25 over and can't take defensive driving that is. All I know is that I wouldn't pay anything for my friends V1 as it is going off constantly, and would hope the R7 can make itself useful in the real world. Is the arrow feature worth that much more to justify the cost over the R3 though? My last Uniden was from 19 yrs ago and I only had it for a year before the car and it were stolen. I didn't find it all that useful other than when I was hit by laser, which in that case I was already toast. Stupid chopper cops! lol I haven't had one since so I am just trying to learn all the current jargon what these things can do now.
