Mice
I've been using this repellant in the garage for the last couple of years- has the scent of balsam and needs to be replaced periodically.

Anytime I have had questions I go here and ALWAYS get answers.
Ditto here...had an odor coming thru the vents. Checked under the hood and saw nothing.
Located this post so went to the cabin filter box...WOW, it was packed with mice nesting crap. Cleaned that out...vacuum cleaner etc. and installed a new one. Also found their nesting material under the right side FRC.
Wish I could post photos as mine put the others here to shame. Just too damn old to be tech savvy.

Now, we have no kids and no pets so I've got the latitude to be super aggressive. All the 'ideas too good to be true' are just that. DCon from Home Depot is essentially adulterated salt. The idea, it dehydrates them, upsets their tummy, and forces them to come out during the day looking for water. And the sun cooks their proverbial goose. Pack rats can't modulate their body temps which is why the are nocturnal feeders and live in dark places. Go to any Home Depot and look at the rat 'poison' they sell. Many have have been gnawed on. But do you see any bodies? A DCon rep told me it is basically a worthless effort and he got paid to sell it. Big box stores simply can't shoulder the product liability of selling the 100% fatal solution of gopher mix.
I've seen pool chlorine tabs on tires, LED blinking lights mounted under hoods, ultrasonic sound generators, D cell electrocution chambers, walk the plank dunking buckets, blow up cats, etc. If they worked we'd be winning, the rats would be losing. But, a million years later, the rats are still around. So they have it figured out. I kill them and sooner or later find them. Dried, semi fresh, often smelly. Tuesday Waste Management makes their weekly house call. See ya' fellas. I get I only reduce the potential for damage, but it is a strategy I can judge successful.
Then their other brother Daryl moves in. And so it goes.

I am really needing some help here guys. I cannot get rid of the mouse issue. I have moved it to a secure garage, tried sticky traps, peppermint spray and pouches, lavender, the bucket with peanut butter trick, I cannot get a mouse because I am highly allergic. Here are my questions, does the gopher mix really work? I have to have it stored for months because of the bad winters here. I have a zo6 and it is killing me to see the mouse damage get worse. Should I get a cat and just keep it in a garage? Will it freeze to death though in an unheated garage when it can get to below zero here. I am willing to try the gopher mix and just keep up on the traps, that I can do if it will keep them out. I NEED a solution, this was my late father's car and he would be spinning in his grave if he saw this going on. Please send sincere replys, I am really needing help. If the cat would live...I can keep it confined to the garage. If the gopher mix and a **** ton of traps is all I need to maintain I will. PLEASE HELP!!!
