Charger is a muscle car, Challenger, Mustang and Camaro are all pony cars, and the Corvette is a sports car. none of these segments are meant to compete against the other. Not sure exactly what you are wanting as my response was in regard to you saying Ferrari is able to make FE and ME cars simultaneously implying that Chevy doesnt but should.
You highlighted "Ferrari build both designs (both 'mid-mounted, front-engined' and 'mid-mounted, rear-engined') concurrently." and to that you appended your answer of "And so does Chevrolet."
I am not aware of any Chevy sports cars concurrently produced which use both designs.
Which two sports cars (both 'mid-mounted, front-engined' and 'mid-mounted, rear-engined') does Chevy concurrently make, as you asserted.
I apologize if I misunderstood your answer.

Reason: punctuation
What more maturation was there to be accomplished? C5,6,7 and 20 years brought the C7 ZR1 to the final conclusion of FE capability.
I think his point was that it didnt bring the FE to its ultimate potential. In his m ind more could have been done. Personally, I just got back from the Spring Mountain and found the C7 to be far more capable than I ever will be and frankly found it to be an astonishing achievement for a daily driver car.
Chevrolet doesnt make two "sports" cars concurrently, just as Ford and Dodge are currently producing none. Ford Did produce two v8 sports cars simultaneously though in 2005, the FE Thunderbird and the ME GT. Ferrari also doesnt just make sports cars. They produce both sports cars and coupes, in both FE and ME configurations.
(using the terms sports car to mean 2 seater and coupe to mean 2 door 2+2 seating)
