Just saw a post this week stating there is a service bulletin as of July that allows C7 owners still under warranty to request there A/T fluid triple flushed and replaced with the new factory fill without tech test driving to verify shutter problems.
If this is the case should I have it done even though I am not having problems??????

The wording of the updated TSB is not totally clear as to the conditions under which a C7/A8 would receive the fluid change at no charge under warranty. The C7/A8 would have to fall within the published build dates and would have to be presented with "suspected shudder".
So I guess the gray area is that the dealer/tech is who determines it has a suspected shudder issue, thus covered under warranty.

Vehicles presented with suspected shudder within the published build dates should have the prescribed fluid exchange procedure performed. The fluid exchange procedure has been very effective at permanently eliminating Torque Converter Shudder.
The published labor operations will pay once per VIN as the fluid exchange has been very effective at permanently at eliminating shudder. Any vehicle that returns with suspect shudder should be diagnosed utilizing using published diagnostics, GDS, PICO Scope or other diagnostic tools. Sometimes shudder is not caused by the torque converter clutch (TCC). In some instances, shudder is fish bite, chuggle, surge or vibration. We have seen cases of suspected TCC shudder turn out to be engine performance, tire/wheel vibration or a driveline vibration.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Like Jones said it has to exhibit the shudder. Here is the verbiage from the TSB. I too would like to have it performed. My cousin had his flushed two weeks ago with no test and no questions asked but it did have the shudder. traded it a week later for a Z06 M7, LOL

There lies the problem as the unclear wording of the TSB basically leaves it up to the individual dealer to decide whether they change the fluid under warranty or not. If your cousin's C7 did not have the shudder would the dealer still have changed fluid under warranty?
This TSB has the potential to cost GM a HELL of a LOT of $$$ if they are agreeing to change the fluid in every C7/A8 built between 2015 and Feb1, 2019 under warranty. Do the math, say potentiality 80,000 C7/A8 owners could take cars in for the change. Especially since only about 5% are experiencing issues that requires the fluid change.
My A8 has no issues but I still wouldn't mine having the fluid changed as a preventive measure. However I believe I read somewhere it cost about $650?

Thanks for this; I'll be looking into it. My 2015 A8 was built on day 2. Before anything bad started happening... I went with the Range device. So, I'm one of those that doesn't show any of the symptoms... but don't think I should have to pay for the newer fluid to be exchanged.
I hope this goes through without any issues.
I wonder if I should still use the Range device after the newer fluid is swapped in?
I'm not convinced the range device is preventing anything from happening. That said, even if I did the triple flush I would still continue to use the range device as I just prefer to drive it with all cylinders firing all the time....
I too would like the flush but the TSB states SUSPECTED SHUDDER so if you aren't having the shudder at all I dought you would get it free. I guess if you know the service guys you may get them to run it through.
Is the latest TSB 18-NA-355 that removed the diagnostic test posted anywhere on the forum? I need a copy to have mine done. Thanks!!!!
Agree ,Can someone please post copy of Update TSB. I goggled TSB and number can’t find . I’m not having sutter problem , but if I can get fluid changed under warranty I would like too.
My girlfriend has a 2019 Stingray 1LT with the 8-spd automatic. I don't notice any "shudder" in her car at all. I plugged in the Range AFM device today, so it now stays in V8 mode all of the time. It has 1,500 miles on it. My car is a 2017 Stingray with the 7M, so it is not an issue for me.
Did GM fix the 'shudder' problem for the 2019 models? Did they use a different fluid for the transmission than earlier model years? Just curious.
