I didn't want to hijack the other thread, so I figured I'd make my own. I ordered the Bl-7000slx on 12/16 as a xmas gift from my wife to me. Website said in stock and delivery should be 4 days. After 3 phone calls and the typical run around, I was told the 7000slx was on backorder and will ship 12/23 when they come in. All 3 calls they were asked if the item is brand new, they said yes all 3 times. They even told my wife the website saying in stock was wrong and tech was trying to fix that. well, delivery was yesterday, and like I said in the other post. the boxes were certainly. not new and the units were all dirty and dusty. I am thinking they didn't like the fact I used the extra $100 coupon on an sale item (their website took the code!!!) so they gave me this beat up, open boxed item. I honestly would have bought an open boxed item if it was available on their website. At this point, it's not only about the money, but the deceit from the company that bothers me. Here are some pics I took.
The first pic is the smaller box with the motor. It clearly was supposed to be tapped closed but top and bottom tape was cut or ripped off (you can see a little of it in the pic) and the box was strapped closed with 2 white straps.
PS I tried the lift last night and it is definitely a nice tool to have in your home garage!!!

They've been top notch when I've dealt with them. Holiday rush issues maybe. Still no excuse. Those are some seriously heavy boxes that can get beat up in shipping, but yours look worse than they should. The dirt and scuffing on the product label shouldn't be there.
Looks like I'll be getting my Quick Jack BL-5000SLX for $960 delivered.... Had to complain to get it for this price. But they did say that they need to update the $100.00 off offer to list the restrictions. BBB got them to respond to me. Was told they would call me for details and complete the transaction. Will see if they do...
SharkGrayStingray ---- let us know if you have any issues with yours when up and running. Your boxes look a little "road hard and put out wet."
just got an email back from them. They obviously didn't look at the pics cause all they said was "we checked your order and a new QJ was sent out, not an open box. Manu dates does not matter if they are not available to ship out at time of order." I don't even care how the boxes look, the units themselves were dirty and dusty!!! If they weren't out of the box, how could they get that dirty?

it's more than just a couple of days shipping dirt. That's months long dirt. please let me know how yours look since you went the BBB route and I'm sure they're not thrilled about that. I'm going to try to get a few pics of the actual units themselves showing the dust/dirt. will let you know

When I received mine the boxes were beat up - even ripped in one place. They didn't look as bad as yours though. When I opened it I don't recall anything major. Maybe one corner was scuffed a bit. There was no significant dust or dirt issue.
That's pretty bad. I'm sure you can get a replacement but if the unit itself is in good shape it's probably not worth the hassle. It's gonna get dirty real quick once you start using it.
Wonder how Quickjack handles warranty issues? Would you need to ship it back to them? I'm guessing it would cost a couple large ones to send it back.....

I'm definitely grateful the units seem to work great. It's the obvious deceit I'm pissed about. Telling my wife "we know the website says in stock, tech is working to correct that". It never changed. The fact they are denying the small box was opened!

It's definitely not worth the hassle of returning and getting a new one. Frankly, I wouldn't trust them at this point anyway. I guess I'd just like to pay what an open box would cost and not get screwed? Otherwise, give me a non opened one... Like I said earlier, the smaller of the 3 boxes is the obvious opened one cause there is tape that's cut and ripped off...
and yes, I agree, they will get dirty, I expect that from use, not from storage/being from the company and sold as new.

I took pics of the units themselves, but they don't do justice. They are worse in person (dirtier/dustier than you can tell in the pics), but it just shows they were exposed to the elements and not in the box the whole time...

let me also reiterate, THE LIFT IS A GREAT ADDITION TO ANY HOME GARAGE!! I've only tried it once last night, but I crawled around under it with my harbor freight creeper and it lifts high enough for almost anything I can think of doing!! It's the company's practices I have an issue with at this point. I don't want to sound like its a bad product.
I suspect this lift has been shipped back to them multiple times. The shipping process takes a toll on the boxes and once opened/torn apart during shipping dirt becomes an issue. I would send it back saying it is not acceptable in it's current condition (there may be parts missing).
There have been numerous posts about people getting the lifts in beat up boxes but no problem with the lift itself. The boxes are heavy and get bounced around in shipping. My box was a bit beat up but the lift was fine. If the lift works fine than you are in good shape and enjoy! BTW if you buy from Costco, they with take the lift back no questions if it is defective.

I was hoping to get it from Costco, but they don't have the 7000 any more.
after a couple of more generic "it's new" responses, I asked to escalate it to a supervisor and if I don't hear from them by Friday I will contact my CC company and BBB. I just got an email from the supervisor saying "thank you for providing pictures and we do QC our products. We're sorry for dust in the package. we can offer you wall hangers or a jack pack for the inconvenience"
I DON'T WANT THAT. and I'm not saying this unit was sold or used, but it is CLEARLY an open box item that I was charged more than open box price for....
When I received my 7000, I got it directly from them and it shipped via UPS. Those suckers are super heavy, and I thought they exceeded the UPS weight limit by far.
When I got mine the boxes were totally destroyed and looked far worse than what you pictured. But everything was there and no damage to the 7000. I have a feeling UPS tried to tape them up during transit.
I think that the boxes they ship them in cannot stand up to UPS handling. Strapping the boxes down on a wooden palette is more appropriate and delivery by common carrier truck might make them look more pristine upon arrival. But I think that would be a lot more expensive.
I did not think to complain about it myself. I did not think mine were used.

I definitely don't think mine were used, I even told them that, but they were 100% more than just "normal shipping" dirty and damaged boxes. They were obviously opened and left somewhere to accumulate that much dust and dirt. The tape was cut open on top and ripped off the bottom. Not just a little, the tape was opened completely
I may have missed this, but did you have to tape and install all the fittings? Did the hoses already have fluid in them? Did the reservoir have fluid in it already? Seems like theres prob 10+ ways to tell if it was used.
My 7000 also arrived in beat up boxes but was fine. There may have been dust on them, i dont recall or know if that would have bothered me
It sounds like you dont want or expect them to send a new one and want a partial refund. How much do you think it should be?
If they offered the suv adapters those are like $150. I would have taken them up on that as i use mine a lot. I think their hangers are like $50-$75
If it works take the freebies they're offering. Or if you think its worth the time and effort to combat their vindictive deceit i guess proceed with contacting the bbb and your credit card co.

Unless there is a problem with the unit (they're looking into the air noise issue and getting back to me) I absolutely don't expect them to waste money picking this one up and sending a new one. With that said, if you saw these in person, you would 100% understand and know these boxes were opened for whatever reason and left somewhere to get all dirty and dusty. Since that is the case, this company actually sells open box units and refurbished units. I would absolutely expect to get charged that price, not $200 or $300 more than that.
The hangers are $25, I bought them with the unit. The jump pack is useless to me... I'm not trying to be a dick, but it's very obvious by the few posts, they don't like to honor the $100 discount code unless it's at full price. For some reason, their computer let me use it on the sale price and maybe they felt sending me this unit was acceptable? IDK...
