My little fix for the clicking on the ****. You cant see it when the **** is on. I used double sided tape, which stretches pretty well to make it thin. Put on **** where channel is at for the chrome ring and middle of shaft. The **** fits over nice and tight. Feels good shifting in garage no clicking. I'll see if it works when I drive.
^^ I only drove for a bit. Remember I dont have any vibration problems just the small clicking noise. I'll let you all know if the clicking comes back. But the **** and chrome ring feel tight now.
Been raining past 2-3 days in San Antonio and surrounding areas. SUX. Makes me miss the vette more. Want to go get on it to feel the shifter again. My two babies are in the garage growling, bored! Lol

You should contact RPI and point out the difference in the boot mount to them. Could be a quick fix from a manufacturing standpoint. I was thinking that teflon pipe tape might work well also?

Yeah good idea. I'll send them an email with the pics. The aftermarket ****'s difference is the ring channel goes all the way around. The chrome ring does not click in like the stock ****.

Hows the shifter noise holding up, did you get any noise after the fix?
Just checking if this fix its still working as i am planning to do the same too
thanks
yep still good. Buy the double sided foam tape. Check out my picture . It is still working for me.. you have to stretch that tape out on the shaft so the **** goes over it. Its tight to get on
Tried with tape but rattling noise wont go away , so swapped back to stock for now and will return the RPI ****
The rattling noise is terrible and impossible to drive with it although it looked better and much shorter than stock ****

ok that stinks. so maybe the noise I had and yours are different. My **** didnt rattle. It was a clicking noise when I shifted. I don't have any vibrations. I guess that's why I was able to pinpoint the problem.
