Exactly. Unfortunately the only way is to pop it off the mount, turn it, and JB weld that sucker back on (I did so with my C6). The screw forces the alignment.

boss2k, it looks perfect! Man that car was clean (I had to clean mine today after seeing yours haha)!

Total $225 for shift **** and TMOD lower box. Just fyi. Also in case this happens to anyone else, the ring on the shift boot came loose a bit from the boot staples. Only one staple was holding it, so it sagged a bit. Made a gap. I guess from taking it on and off alot. But easy fix was heavy duty double sided tape. It holds up the shift boot to the ring very well.

My 15 came with an o-ring that held the ring to the boot. The 19 didn't. Mine did the same thing and I ended up using an o-ring to hold it. Not sure why they changed it but the o-ring works great and keeps it snug.

oh snap, I got ya. I'll just slide that o-ring down over the ring and boot lol. Duh!! Ha ha thank you. I had no idea what the o-ring was for since the 19 has the ring stapled to the boot. The o-ring came with the new shift ****. I try it out tomorrow. The double sided tape works well though.

I think the tape will come off sooner or later. The o-ring is a pain to put on but it has enough flex to hold things in place. It ain't fun getting it on though.

I'll give it a try and thanks. If you look at the side pic of the new shift **** I posted, I put the o-ring on the bottom of shift **** per instructions but I had no idea what it was for. You can see it there lol. Too funny. Good advice. I love doing things on my cars by myself and it's a learning experience too.

Just slid it across the shifter handle for better grip. Devnull helped me install it and he can explain better,I am useless in doing things myself😀

The chrome ring slides in the shift boot and then the o-ring goes over the shift boot on the inside. You have to turn the shift boot inside out and then roll it back over if that makes any sense. Then the o-ring holds the shift boot on to the ring.

Looks like ill have to take off console to get it done. Probably would be easier to turn inside out. I'll get to it sometime this week. If the staples held strong this wouldn't have been a problem. I started messing with the shifter since a month after I purchased the 19 Vette back in early September. Only makes sense that chrome ring came lose. I tried the factory alignment procedure at 1st and that didnt help. That's when the chrome ring began to come lose because I had to use pliers to turn that thing the 1st time. But it's all worth it. 1st gear has not given me one problem since the TMOD box. And 4th to 5th is smooth.

Yeah they're great cars but we do like to tweak them. The t-mod box is money well spent. I did that and a Callaway shifter and love it. I sold my MGW shifter to recoup part of what I'd spent.

I put the thick o-ring over the chrome piece with boot inside out. Didnt have to take off the whole console just tilted it to the side with wires still connected. It was fairly easy. It fits well. Thanks for the advice. Hopefully the o-ring doesn't slide down. The thin o-ring I put in the channel of the **** to tighten up the fit to chrome ring. Just cuz I had the extra one. Now time to go for a cruise lol.

The thin o-ring should help with vibration. I had to put one between the **** and the shaft to keep mine from vibrating. So far the o-ring on the boot has stayed on.

yeah. I could probably use the thin ring for that too. If there is too much vibration I'll do that. Makes sense. Went for a drive and felt good.
