Ok another up date State Farm put the estimate at almost $5k that includes new quarter panel bumper, and cooler. The shop thinks it will be around the 18th till complete.
Oof! It hurts to see that. With a good body shop and your admirable demeanor the fix will be good as new and your outlook on life will remain intact.
You sound like quite the gentleman and I wouldn't mind bumping into you sometime myself. Well, not literally like the last guy.
Thank for the kind words. The worst part of this is when I look out my window I see a toyota corolla and then have to drive it. If you're ever in Hampton Va stop by
I guess this is a mid repair up date. GM has got the quarter panel to dealer. They are still waiting for the bumper to arrive so all can be painted Apparently the GM parts warehouse is still trying to catch up on deliveries from the strike The shop found no other damage than what was seen. Hopefully will have it back early next week. Driving the Corolla is just depressing
It's going to me more than $2K for sure; I had a guy center punch the rear of my '15 a couple of years ago. Just to replace & paint a new end cap was $1700.....local dealer did an outstanding job matching paint, no issues since.
Good luck with your repairs, glad to see someone else racking miles up and enjoying the ride! I'm close to 85K....will be over 100K by the first of the year.
Ok final on this. I got the Vette back today a 430PM today Feb 21. It looks amazing and the gap between the quarter panel and bumper is better than it was new more even along the whole gap. The paint finish is as good as the factory. Thank GOD the Corolla is back with Hertz. Final bill was just over $5200. Another outstanding job by the Hampton Chevy Body Shop, they are truly great.
Congratulations on finally getting your pride and joy back. It looks really good. Now enjoy it! Hopefully I’ll get mine back next week. It’s certainly been a long process for such a minor chip but as long as they make it look perfect I’m not going to rush them. Lol.
