I used the Pyle camera from Amazon that Elmer used ($15.99) It gives a great picture and it comes with a mounting bracket. I mounted it in the grill identical to Elmer’s post. I drilled 2 small holes in the top bar of the grill and used 2 small screws and nuts. Did not remove the grill

My 17 1LT has small diamond openings in my front grill and thus I can't fit a camera in there as the rest of the guys. Oh well....
Can you approximately tell me where you found a good opening under the center console to pass the wire thru?
Did you also connect the camera + power lead to the inside of the fuse box like Elmer did? Since our new cables have a power output from the main harness, good for 1 amp, I was thinking that this might be a good power point to use. Would still need to add a inline fuse in that line..
I'm glad everything worked out, was your issue video cables or programing?
John, the Pyle camera comes with a hole saw, you might be able to mount the camera in the solid area below the grill, I actually thought about doing that. I only found two places I could get the coat hanger wire through. One was right at the end of the console the other was about 10in forward if that. I finally bit the bullet and cut the wires because I couldn’t get them through with the connector attached. I followed Elmer’s idea of tapping the power supply under the hood because there was one less wire to fight getting it over the console and out of the car.
The problem was with the program. I checked the wrong box on the rear camera. After I corrected that it worked perfectly. So glad I did it:-)
If I can help let me know.

John, I don’t know how large the diamonds are in your grill. I’m thinking you might attach the bracket to one of the angled sides. And then rotate the camera in the bracket so the field of view is parallel to the road. I had to rotate mine in the bracket to get it right.
Elmer, right now my three favorites are 1 God, 2 Santa Clause and 3 You. Thanks for all your help. :-)
Since I'm 'suppose' to have a front plate on my car, I just might put it on and then I would have a number of extra options. 1) Drill a hole and mount the camera onto the plastic plate holder and then drill a small hole for the lens to 'see' thru the plate.
2) Mount the camera directly below the plate on the bottom stabilizing arm of the plate mount. I just ordered a other camera that would mount below and on this arm and would barely be noticeable.
Elmer here is a photo of my front girl. As you can see its different than yours. The diamond shaped openings are to small to fit a camera in. I'm now in a holding pattern until my second camera arrives and then I will have more options for mounting it.
Stock grill! Ok, hows this. Pull out the tow panel and you can reach in behind the grill and put something that you can mount the camera on or attach 2 flat pieces of metal on front and back of grill to make a base for the camera mount? OR... Get the Z06 grill and get the easier slots to work with.
My friends stock grill required us to fab a bracket so we could mount the camera dead center on the grill.
