If i want to resume, when I started to mount the navtool box, I did not know that it was also necessary to connect a connector on the radio module and then connect this harness to the other harness on the driver's side. The result was that the central screen of the Corvette either remained blank or was displayed (oddly it reacted differently if I left the door open or closed). Then Navtool told me that the radio module was missing, which I did this morning. And now the central screen remains continuously blank. Attached the connection diagram i did

I think I have solved my wiring problems but, once powered up, I cannot detect the CARPLAY via my iphone. Do we have to do a particular process for this?

Did you "have" carplay to start with on your screen? Navtool can display your iPhone output on the Navscreen.

Sorry, I'm a little confused on your question?

WHat year car do you have?

To get the iPhone video to your NAV screen you need to connect via an adapter and an HDMI cable to the Navtool.

You need this type of connection:

Let me say this again. CarPlay is part of the Navigation system. It is on the NAV screen on cars that are equipped to support the Carplay app. If you didn't have carplay on your NAV screen before you did the Navtool install, it is not going to appear on your NAV screen as an app.

Navtool is designed to mirror your iPhone on to the NAV screen. It is done by hooking a lightning plug into the phone and the USB end of the cord plugs into an adaptor that allows you to hook a HDMI cable up and connect to the Navtool. When that connection is made, anything on your iPhone is displayed on the NAV screen.

Navtool does not install Carplay. I think the later model 15s and the 16s and newer had Carplay ability. If your car does not have Carplay, you won't get it with Navtool. What you will get with the correct connection to Navtool is the ability to use Google Maps or anything else you iPhone has and display what is on your iPhone screen to the NAV screen.

Thanks a lot for your help. I understand for mirroring but i have some more few question :
  • For the mirroring: is it this cable ?

  • Why they sold me this box with option Carplay ? Your explanation show it's only mirroring, not Apple Carplay
  • Why, when i told them i can't see Carplay App on the screen, they told me :
The phone has to be connected directly to them after with the USB cable the only cable at Mike Vu’s is the same cable to use for charging no other cables such as lightning to HDMI can be used then if your phone Siri is enabled and you purchase the CarPlay for 549 to begin with the CarPlay will appear on the screen
  • I told them I use the cable that I use in my other car to have the Carplay and they answered me :
press and hold top left of the touch screen for 3 seconds
Thanks for help. Eric

Did you have car play on your NAV screen before you added Navtool?

Do you have the car play APP on your iPhone?

Ok, then unless you add the carplay app to your phone, you are not going to get carplay. I have a 14, no carplay. I have navtool, STILL don't have carplay but I can run any APP on my iPhone and make it appear on the NAV screen.

If the Navtool ads say they add car play, it is through the mirroring. TO get the car play app on the NAV screen you need to update the HMI module to a 16 model year. BUT!! doing that disables a couple of things in the car. IF you need to have the carplay, you have to have that done. I don't know of any way that Navtool can update your HMI to show the carplay App on the screen unless it is being mirrored there by the iPhone.

Yes. You hook the lightning adapter into the hdmi cord and connect to the hdmi jack on Navtool. Post #87 shows the HDMI cable coming out of the adapter and going into a hole in my console to the HDMI jack on the Navtool.

Hang in there. I think you will get this to work!

First post in this monster thread shows the NAV screen working from the Navtool. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...tallation.html

You have to scroll a little to get to the NAV screen. Also remember, I have the older model of the Navtool. The newer 5.0 is easier to install than the one I have.

Well, I don't understand what they mean by carplay then. Unless it is an advertising ploy to get you to buy the product. Sorry, I've got no answer to that.
