I love the strap but some tracks they have a soft shoulder material that is like ice. You would just need "assistance" in getting back on track and with your car low and sitting in that stuff, there is no way to get under the car to get the strap on, so I would keep both handy since tow hooks can just be accessed easily in that situation.
Reading through this thread you would think no C7 owners have ever had a emergency requiring a tow that did not result to damage to their vehicle unless the owner brought a bridle strap with them. Apparently there are no tow drivers on the planet capable of lifting a C7 without damaging your vehicle. Never knew this.
My forum posts are based on hands on practical experience as a result of my owning dozens of Corvettes and being very active in the Corvette community over the last 44 years, not only this forum. Unlike you where your knowledge or more lack of such is totally based on what you can goggle search.
You don't even own a Corvette, yet are always act as you know it ALL and everyone else is wrong. It must really suck to be you.
Heres a horror for you. The shifter cable on my C6 broke. I was in park and facing a parking curb. Had to be first picked up by a regular tow truck and then "walked" up onto the flatbed. Don't ask me hoe we got it off.....it wasnt pretty

Now you do.
Plenty of us have had damage. It's very hard to avoid, no matter how careful you and the tow operator is.

Whether you use a tow hook or use a canvas bridle is not the determining factor whether you damage your front end. What will potentially cause damage is the angle of approach when you begin your approach to the truck ramp. Many tow rigs will carry with them 2" by 12" wooden planks. With 3 planks loading on to the truck ramp without scraping the bottom of your vehicle should not be a problem. This method reduces the angle of approach. Even 2 boards might get it done without damage. Stagger the boards as shown in the photo below. When you unload your vehicle you will need to use the same boards arranged in the similar manner. Don't know if the tow driver has 12 inch planks to accommodate a low profile auto?...ask them they when they call you back for your location info. If they don't, them tell no thanks and call someone else. I used this method on my Boss 302 and it had a lower clearance than does my 19 GS with a stage 2 splitter. Worked without a problem.

I actually bought boards from a construction site a few doors away to facilitate this.
Do you load your vehicles on tow trucks often? RaceRamps.com offers some nice solutions to address low profile vehicle loading. Boards get to be cumbersome if used frequently.

Four times as I said. In fifteen years.
Frequently per mile, no, but I do drive all over these United States, so **** happens.
Not going to bring excess stuff along on an 8000 mile road trip. Or on a 200 mile road trip, either.
