Received one the other day and now wondering if this is just another gimmick. No, I haven't installed it as it appears by some writings reviewed that one should also install a Throttle Body. Will the controller actually take away the dead time when the accelerator is rapidly pushed at a dead stop or is the replacement Throttle Body also needed?
It would help if you told us what brand you got. I'm considering the same mod. I researched it and gonna go with Sprint Booster. Here's a link which I found helpful.
I received the Soler TC @ 95 bucks. As I said, haven't hooked it up yet and according to the link you sent, it appears to be China made knock off type.
Does the Soler TC allow the car to keep its own settings in Tour, Sport, Track and Wet or does it over ride those settings. This could be an issue in wet conditions for example.
Sounds like a case of ready, shoot, aim on your part. Stating the obvious, you would feel more comfortable about your purchase to ask these question before you buy!
Soler has supported this forum by providing detailed explanations of the functions and benefits of both the TC and their ported throttle body.
FWIW, I did ask several others in the club but in retrospect, the issues of built in throttle responses the GS already has in the various modes wasn't brought up. In speaking with Soler, he didn't feel there would be a difference when you switched your car to "wet" mode for example, but qualified that by saying he hadn't went into "Wet" mode with his. In review of Soler comments on this forum, I couldn't find where it addressed this particular issue. If you do, I'd appreciate the link.

We might have misunderstood you. We have tried all the combinations of car modes with controller modes. What I was trying to say over the phone is that in the case of the C7 the throttle response changes so little with the car modes that the controller modes will be by far what you will be sensing the most. So, going back to your question, which I now understand, if you find the need to go into wet/weather mode due to safety concerns, we'd recommend you use the controller in OE mode or EC mode.

I think practically all the comments concerning the Soler TC and TB have praised the function of them on the C7. A search should bring you plenty of threads to review.

Lots of guys also use the Vitesse and the Pedal Commander throttle controllers...
All seem to like the peppier/enhanced driving experience, getting with more throttle with less pedal push.
Strictly a SOTP feel mod, but they certainly do work.

Spot on! I have the Soler TC in my '19 GS and the Pedal CDR in my '19 Ram 3500. Both work as advertised!
one thing to know if your going into sport mode or track mode turn the throttle controler to 0 sometimes with it turned up the cpu gets confused over the throttle position and goes into limp mode and throws a code. It is a pita easily avoided by turning down the sensitivity of the tc. this is particularly pertinent if you are near time for an inspection as the code will have to be cleared and the emission info re learned.
Drove through Hurricane Sally and the tropical depression two weeks later, unfortunately not by choice, since I was away from home. I selected the Weather mode on a couple of occasions in heavy rain with the Solar Controller in CF5. I had no issues with the accelerator pedal and felt completely safe. It was helpful having gone through the Weather skidpad exercise at the Ron Fellows school at Spring Mountain, as I kind of knew what to expect.
