Default Window washers won't work

I filled washer fluid to top and they won't work. Any ideas what could be wrong?

Curious what year C7, but they might all be the same. This from earlier post

However #58 is a micro relay, not a fuse.

First trouble shooting step; Is do you hear the pump churning when you activate the washer?

If you do then you are looking for a disconnected water hose between the washer reservoir and the windshield nozzles.

If it isn't running its electrical and the fuses/relays you mentioned above are suspect.

Quick way to verify the motor is good is to disconnect the connector for the motor at the reservoir. Should be 2 pins there. Run 2 wires to those pins. One from the positive pole on the battery, the other from the negative pole or ground. (supply 12 volts to the motor). If it runs you know the issue is in the circuit that supplies power. Likely a fuse or the relay that you are already looking at.

Good luck.

With the engine not running, do you hear a buzz? If not, I'd find the pump and see if it is getting power.

If I'm not mistaken, there is an older thread on this somewhere that has more details but I can't find it. I thought it even linked to instructions on how to replace the pump. Regardless, I've got a C7 with the washer fluid not spraying and the pump isn't making and noise, so I'm trying to fix it myself if possible. Any help would be much appreciated!

This might help. Also you will get much better search results through Google than this site. When searching an issue it almost always gives a link to this forum.

That's it. Thanks so much! For some reason my google searches couldn't find it, and as you mention, the search on the Corvette Forum site was less than optimum. I can't wait to get started. My wife is always nervous when I start operating on her baby... It's a pump. I'm a chemical engineer. What could possibly go wrong?

OK, so I replaced my pump. Actually, it was pretty easy with all the great previous instructions and pics. Just a comment from what I didn't find clear in the other big thread. I wasn't sure whether to keep the existing grommet or not, but since it's rubber and rubber gets old, I decided to replace it. BUT I put the grommet on the new pump before I installed it and (of course) you can't convince the grommet to seat into the reservoir when the pump tubing has already expanded the grommet diameter! So I pulled the new pump back out and took the grommet back off while washer fluid was spewing out (but i was prepared to catch some of it) and then easily popped the grommet in the reservoir and then put the pump back in it sort of easily. Incredibly, there was still some washer fluid in the reservoir. Now it pumps like a champ.

As a side note, those humungous tires are pretty heavy for me to lug around anymore. It would be easier to just take it into the shop, but it's still pretty fun just to see how things work on these awesome cars.

Thanks for the help.
