Splitters - hello - going to install a splitter on my 2014 C7.
I have looked at the ACS models and they look fine. I see their prices are quite a bit more than other after market suppliers. Are the ACS top quality and the less expensive ones inferior? Thanks
You will get different opinions, here is mine. EOS quality is fine for something you can damage easily and is located so close to the ground. They have it on Amazon with side wings for 350.00 can't beat the price. I will be getting one but waiting to see if they go on sale for Black Friday. Even if they don't it's a great price. Now other splitters may look a little better but cost hundreds more. Just my .02
If you want it to look perfect and no fit or installation issues go for ACS.. if you don't mind fiddling around and getting things to fit then save a few bucks and get one of the others. You really do get what you pay for in my book... been bit in the *** many times trying to save a few bucks.. your choice
I went with a cheaper one bc its so easy to bang them up
my first one was a Corvette World one, supposedly from the original molds... but it was thin and hollow, a tire tread on the hwy eventually took it out. the C7Carbon one is def sturdier. nailed a good size jackrabbit on the way to work one day, all i got was a scratch
The difference that is apparent is that ACS build what I call a 'completely enclosed' splitter. The top, bottom, sides, front and back are one continuous enclosed piece. The EOS splitter is an 'open-bottom' piece, meaning that the splitter is molded in such a way that there isn't really a 'bottom' to it. You have a lip that runs around the edges of the splitter, but there isn't a flat bottom, to speak.
Whether that matters, I don't know? I went with the EOS and have placed to layers of Slip-lo on it to try and protect the front lip from damage when rubbing on concrete, etc. (the front lip is all that can really drag, since there isn't any material on the bottom to drag).
Quality, paint, are subjective. I find the EOS to be very nicely finished (I have Carbon Flash splitter, side skirts and rear spoiler). I shopped them against ACS components but decided to go with the lower priced components.

I installed a stage 1 splitter on my 2014. It is an OEM one and of course fit was excellent. If you go with a higher stage style splitter, ACS or C7 Carbon would be very good choices. EOS should also be considered, as they would offer a good product at a lower price.

It was an easy decision for me. The quality and fitment of the EOS aero components are more than acceptable if your primary reason for the splitter is appearance. Especially since the ACS splitter is more than 2-times the cost ($897 vs $370). I have installed EOS's stage 2 Z06 spoiler, stage 3 side skirts, splitter w/ stage 2 winglets and the Z06 front grill. All looked great (Carbon Flash), as well as fit and installed with no issues.
If you are buying the aero components because you primarily high speed track your Corvette, then I would probably go with the ACS (or OEM) splitter. For normal driving, with an occasional high speed run, the EOS components are more than acceptable.
thanks
ACS looks good but the price if I have it right was $1050 where as the C7 Carbon is $545.
I know you get what you pay for but can there be that much difference?
