Tow Ring
Any of you run with the tow ring in the front? Looking for ideas on how to keep it from being stolen. Other that take it out. Thanks for your ideas.

What about installing it with red lock tite? It would be difficult to get it back out though.

This is a good answer. I do not have a tow hook because my car did not come with the receiver portion. But I do have the V tow strap in the storage compartment in the trunk.

Not much love for exposed tow hooks in this crowd. I have mine on all the time but mine aren't ricer red either.
OP, i wouldn't worry with theft. It takes less time to steal your targa top than removing your hooks.

The GT4 hook can't really be unscrewed without a tool.

Maybe it's for bench racing.

Beats wasting time taking it on and off repeatedly, when leaving it in is harmless.

The red tow ring looks nice against the blue car. And if we are out of town racing, it is a pain to put it on and off. Just a thought.

If you are racing and need a tow hook, you don't have a choice and might as well leave it in. IDK what the resale value on that is but it can't be that much that someone would do it for the few bucks they might get. Your wheels are a better target, IMO. Say I took the trouble to steal your tow hook, what do you think I can get for it "used"? I might give you $0.20 on the dollar, if you are lucky.

I keep a 2 leg nylon bridle that has hooks that attach to the tie down openings in the frame wrapped up in the trunk cubby just in case

Tow hooks are for when you go off track into soft stuff.. no freaking way your moving on that crap or getting under car for a strap.. tow hooks allow a little "help" to get back on track surface... no real use for street, there you could use a strap system or call a flat bed
