$5,500 Performance Package, what do you think?
But I was looking at adding a little more oomph to my Vette.
A co-worker of mine had his C6 modified by this shop and highly recommends them.
My goal is to try and stay naturally aspirated.
This is the package I am looking at for $5495:

Shop is 21st Century Muscle Cars in DFW link: http://21stcenturymusclecars.com/200...1-1-1-1-2.aspx
Do you think a package like this is worth the cost?
Would something like this significantly impact engine life/reliability (assuming quality work and installation)?
I stayed NA as well and have a cam in mine and love it!
#1 above all else for me is a quality job that will be reliable for a daily driver.
The vette is my only car (I have two motorcyles) and I want to make sure that any modifications done to it are not high maintenance.
I might do a track day or two in the future, it would be for learning/fun and not competition.
I'd also probably get sucked into the occasional stoplight race from some "punk"

The 2nd package is done utilizing forced induction from a centrifugal style super charger. Cost for parts it more expensive however labor is less as they don't have to really take anything apart, just adding a supercharger and intercooler.
The 3rd package is the same as above except is using a roots style blower instead of a centrifugal sc. Those units are a bit more expensive and require taking the intake manifold off and such. I'm actually surprised that this package isn't substantially more than the centrifugal package because the blower systems themselves tend to run $2-3k more than a centri system.
IMO...My choice of these packages would (is) #2. I prefer the characteristics of the centri SC over that of the roots because they are capable of producing more hp and have an externally located intercooler which usually yields better/cooler intake temps. And based on the amount of people on this forum that have done them and are happy with them, I'd say they're a pretty safe bet as long as you get a good tune with it. It also lets the car maintain normal driving characteristics until you hit the boost range (~2200-2800rpm before it kicks in). The other two packages will actually yield more low end torque...which some people may prefer. Really depends on your driving style.

My opinion is that this is really overpriced by about a grand.
A cam on the LT motor is more of a job than a LS motor. Oil pan has to come off, etc. I've seen cam swaps be $2600-$2900 with keeping dod. Dod delete in the $4000 range. That's package pricing. So say $2750 for the cam and headers are $1600 to $1800 plus $600 for install if it's a z51 then that's right about it. Plus a tune.
The price is about 10% higher than you could find it somewhere else...but
In the performance arena you get what you pay for.
