I'd trust Chevy more if they hadn't grubered us. The nonsense coming out of The Boys From Marketing versus what appears to be real world results is cause for nothing but skepticism. I believe good management training suggests, Be Early, Be Upfront, Be Honest. It seems that practice wasn't on anyone's mind here. If they had said the car is ready but we have some kinks to work out, I'd be OK with that. Trying to avoid the issue with marketing strategy is an insult.

P.S.- Had to google Grubered! Wow! Did he not realize he was on Camera?
Once you've been on this forum a few years and have owned a few Vettes then you can have an opinion about how we discuss cars here on our forum. Until then......
It is because of this forum that today I cancelled my months old order for a full up C7 Z06 Z07 that is now sitting at 3400. I did it after several sleepless nights and with great disappointment. I spent a lot of time studying the car before ordering it, looking forward to how I would love it, setting up a great financing deal, and getting my C6 ready to sell or trade. It is because of this forum that I learned more about the issues although several of my Vette buddies had been quietly discussing them. And I will be following this forum to see if it is wise to try for a Z06 again in a year or two.
I am assuming you are somewhat of an established person to be able to afford a $100K car, yet you let a handful of trolls make a decision for you???
I'm picking up my car on 12/18 and all of the negative speculation is driving me away from this forum! Has anybody tried to reach out to the One person that can put all the speculation to rest? I'm sure that someone knows the programmer that designed the ECU! That is the ONLY person that knows for sure!
Hope you guys have fun bashing something that's too complex for you to understand - I'm gone until I pick mine up. I really want to enjoy my pickup day!
SasquatchZ06, I feel for you, but unfortunately negativity is a fact of life with this. I seriously want a Z06 (currently own a ZL1 Camaro) but it looks like now the speculation is over and the facts are out about the ECU. I've seen what GM says about it (break it in and there won't be an issue) but until folks do the break in period then run it multiple times without any power loss the issue won't go away. Funny thing is that I'm one of those guys that doesn't race and won't be tracking the car so this issue PROBABLY won't affect me, however, there is something that just doesn't sit right with me when a car like this gets held back and other cars in the same category don't. It really bothers me that I'm buying a 650hp car most of the time, but sometimes it's not (I know all cars naturally lose hp when it's hot, we all know this isn't what this is about). A lot of folks will say, fine, if you feel that way, then don't buy it. That's the problem for GM. I went from a "can't wait to have it once the wife gives me the ok" to "no way I would buy one right now because of this ECU issue". I can't read minds, but my feeling is that I'm not alone. Here's the real bottom line, this isn't a perception issue. The fact is that the Z06 loses power when it gets hot and other cars don't? Why, is it a design issue? An issue with the blower? I'll get blasted for this, I know, and the horse has been beaten dead long ago, but I'm seeing two extremes.....one where dudes like me aren't going to buy the car and the other where current owners are saying no big deal. I really, truly hope that the GM rep was right when he said that all you have to do is break in the car and there is no longer an issue. I'm not an engineer, but it doesn't pass the sniff test when you say that for the first 500 miles (or 1000 miles, can't remember) the ECU will neuter the car for emissions and warranty, but after that it's full speed ahead and floor it all you want and suddenly it ignores the engine getting hot? All right, let the spear throwing commence. I truly do love this car and drool over it every time I see it in pics (haven't seen one in person yet). I WANT this to be a non issue!

Tell it like it is. I want the problem to go away as well but my guess is I'll be waiting a year or two before I can reorder the car. For guys my age who want to get some more time in on the track before we croak, two years is a lot of time to waste.
I pulled up a couple of the links and glanced over them real quick.
I can't help but wonder if some of the information in those links was gathered here, then they put their own spin on it.
Wonder no more. Bet on it. It is funny how quickly the troll shows his true colors after initially posting claiming innocence. Including last link, leaves no doubt.

Or maybe those other folks posted the info first and then it was posted here? Ever give that a thought? CF, as big as it is, is NOT the first or last word on the internet.
Foxer55, don't let the negativity keep you from your research. Good luck.
Read between the lines....all these bashers are trying to do is sell a tune that they sell....it's all garbage. Also, if you are buying this car for someone else's approval...you have other issues to deal with. I have owned 53 cars...including 3 Ferrari's and 9 corvettes ( 2 Z06's &427 & C7 Z51etc) and one Porsche ...my new Z06 is the real deal....let the trolls troll!!!
Are you kidding ME!! 6 links!!! you probably think you can still chose your own doctor? OK!! you canceled your car, for you that was the thing to do. That is why we live in the USA!! Give those of us that are enjoying our cars a break. MOVE ON! go post some where else!! I respect your decision!! please respect ours! and quit trying to justify yours buy convincing us that it was and is the right thing to do.
I love the car, could not be happier. I also realize that it is a car, there will be problems that will have to be taken care of. Have you bought anything lately that has been perfect?? Good luck with what ever your next car is, I certainly hope for your sake the manufacture can live up to your expectations. Although I think that is a long shot. By the way this post is for all of you that think this is the wrong car for you!!!!!! DON"T BUY IT!!!! DO yourself and the rest of us a big favor.. JD

Your post history mirrors the other guy's. You aren't fooling anyone.
1 solution for surviving. High hp FI in a warrantied street car
M grand from a huge stroker of an V-8 means piston speeds approaching those of a NASCAR engine, so all of the rotating masses are forged for lightness. And strength: at maximum load, the supercharger takes some xxx hp to run, so the engine block is actually supporting more than yyy horsepower. The high revs and enormous power output come with a corresponding buildup of heat, and for that reason the ABC engine can be revved past zzzz rpm for only eight seconds at a time. Each second spent over zzzz rpm must be redeemed with a second under bbbb. If the full eight seconds are used up, the engine computer will lock out the overrev function until the engine has been under mmmm for fifteen seconds and has ventured once under pppp rpm.
Hint - not a GM motor, nor gm car. It would seem physics is physics for any company creating a high hp FI street car...

The underlined items above are not in alignment with each other.

Welcome to the forum but if you can't filter out the bad from the good then I feel for you. As far as the negative comments go, you'll always see that on any forum (I am a Houston Texans Fan and you better believe that the football forums get crazy), check out the GTR forums, Viper forums, Porsche forums.....the negativity will always be there. On the bright side, you should be able to find some interesting and informative posts that tend to be positive
