Default Stop the Speculation

I'm picking up my car on 12/18 and all of the negative speculation is driving me away from this forum! Has anybody tried to reach out to the One person that can put all the speculation to rest? I'm sure that someone knows the programmer that designed the ECU! That is the ONLY person that knows for sure!
Hope you guys have fun bashing something that's too complex for you to understand - I'm gone until I pick mine up. I really want to enjoy my pickup day!

As such it does have negative impact! It is unfortunate negative seems to radiate so much louder than positive. GM has done such a great job with this car. Most that have taken delivery appear to be more than satisfied. The reports per car magazines have been favorable. Gm rep. had favorable comments post break in period. 500 miles may be adequate in changing your oil, but seriously doubt everything is seated nor are the internals adequate for full prolonged throttle. If you are buying this car for occasional club events it will be more than adequate. Hope you do enjoy your day as I am sure you will enjoy your car. My order has no end in sight yet.

This whole rollercoaster ride reminds me of the Beatles in 1966. They were on top of the world enjoying immense popularity...until John said they were more popular than JC...Remember what happened next...the world turned on them and they went from heros to zeros overnite...

Just like the Z06 and the Viper vid...

Well, we all know what place the Beatles ended up taking in history. We just might see the same happen with the Z.

Reading some of the commentary on this forum is kinda like watching WWF(world wrestling federation). Some steroid induced moron diving off of a rope only to miss his target and knock himself into a staggering daze. As a kid I would keep watching the stupidity, couldn't walk away.. fast forward 40+ yrs and here I go again. Cant quit reading this nonsense. Cant quit reading because theres a chance that some really sharp, level headed guy is gona say something relevant. so I'll keep hoping!

It is America. We are allowed under
The constitution to speculate.

It's all good fun.

No such thing as WWF... It's WWE.

I joined this forum before I took delivery of my C7 Stingray and have been active everyday on this forum since Sept 2013. I have now taken deliver on my C7 ZO6 and over the last couple of weeks have lost 80% of my interest due to the significant negativity of some. I do hope that we can turn this back into a productive fun site - right now I just try to find the positive, hoping the negative wears off of those few.

With that said .... I was only able to get 130 miles on my car this week. I just love this car - Omaha is cold right now and I have no traction ....

5 or 6 particular posters (none of which even own the car as far as I can tell) are managing to ruin this particular subforum. The mods should step in probably and "suggest" they stop with the stupidity.

This is pretty accurate. The number is probably a little higher. And most of them have been doing it in the C7 sections for the last 2 years. They have never contributed anything of value here except for negativity and complaints about subjective issues.

I probably underestimated the number by a little bit because half the threads I don't even open because of the trolling. It's pretty stupid to be honest. This forum could be much more useful if you didn't have to sort through so many idiots to get any information.

I agree. I know the other Z06 forum isn't very active any more... but the mods wouldn't put up with the kind of cr*p we've seen lately.

Hate to say it, but I would almost prefer to see a closed forum with owners only (which would eliminate me on this portion of the forum, since I haven't purchased... yet). Not sure it could ever really be done and survive b/c I'm sure it would drastically cut advertising revenue.

But there are at least 4-5 here who need the ban-hammer.

AMEN. Especially to a Owners only part. This car is awesome. 95% of these poster possers will never see the inside of one, let alone get to drive one. 40 years of Corvette and High end Muscle cars ownership, and I am impressed. 100 miles of smiles so far!

Congratulations on your Z06! It's an awesome car. The people stirring trouble will never own a Z06.

I agree!! I love the car. It does everything GM said it would and more. First, most of the negative people on this forum that have a car and are unhappy. #1 should sell the car and get something they are happy with. #2 Most couldn't drive the car to 75% of it's capability anyway. So please if you are reading this, go somewhere else and **** and moan. I just spent an hour and half with one of the top race drivers in the country and I " the best street car he has ever driven on the track" and that says a lot from a guy like Andy Pilgrim. I am having a ball learning new things about the car every day and enjoying every minute. JD
Note: and one more thing if you have a negative opinion of this post, take it somewhere else because I don't give a $*%*. I am having to much fun with my new car.

It is because of this forum that today I cancelled my months old order for a full up C7 Z06 Z07 that is now sitting at 3400. I did it after several sleepless nights and with great disappointment. I spent a lot of time studying the car before ordering it, looking forward to how I would love it, setting up a great financing deal, and getting my C6 ready to sell or trade. It is because of this forum that I learned more about the issues although several of my Vette buddies had been quietly discussing them. And I will be following this forum to see if it is wise to try for a Z06 again in a year or two.

I hear ya Foxer... and you are not one of the people who I take any issue with. I've paid attention to your posts...and they were all very thoughtful. And I am reading all the same things you are, and I am not naïve enough to throw it all out and put my head in the sand.

I also think the sample size (with positive and negative things posted) is so extremely small... that drawing concrete conclusions at this point is just not responsible.

I was never planning on purchasing year 1, b/c I don't typically do that. So, I don't have a "horse in the race" at this point... another reason I am trying to stay as objective, without emotion, as possible.

So I _completely_ understand and respect the tough decision you made.

The forum is great for guys who are researching the car. But there are so, so many "wannabes" (and I think you would agree) that are just trolling here and clog up many good, useful threads... it is frustrating.

Thanks for the reply.

I agree with the sample size perspective and what I finally decided was there just wasn't enough positive information to consider an acquisition as low risk. It really did make me crazy for a couple of days until I made a decision.

Understood, sir. Can't say I wouldn't have done the same thing in your position.
