I'm thinkin' most new Z06 owners like the new Z06. I'm also thinkin' that's probably all that really matters in the grand scheme of things.

I have seen the same shiit/haters/trolls in other forums. Have owned plenty of sports cars and fast suvs so I have seen the share of nonsense? Before i got my vette i had an 06 SRT jeep aka WK1, when the new one was released in 2012 with the 6.4L everyone I mean everyone besides the owners of the new jeep talked sooo much shiit that a lot of threads were getting closed on daily basis. Now 2 years later the new jeep has shown to be just as good if not a lot better than the previous gen. Seen same thing when the new EvoX came into the picture, and i can go waaay back in the 90's with the DSMs (1G vs 2G)
The way I see it is people are always going to pick at one thing and talk about it until its beaten to death, revive and beaten to death again and again.. It has happened and still happens with all previous gens. Take a step back and look at all the guys that have lost their engines on their C6Zs and how much more money is to replace the heads, but they still love their cars and those car are still beasts.
Oh yeah people that decide what to purchase based on a forum (which btw is only 5% or less of vette owners) they are straight up fools.

What is the matter with this generation. You have to ask others to know what to buy? Grow up...buy what you want. If you cancel buying this car because of the internet then you did not deserve car in the first place. Call the white house and get a poll on the neatest car of the minute and buy that car if that is how you roll.

If did research and bought the car despite an issue you learned on the internet you didn't deserve the car in the first place.

First time on this site, first post. Ordered my 4th Corvette a couple weeks ago. Bought them all new, 1972, 1979, 2006, and now C7Z06. I did my research and my C6 had similar HP/Torque to what the C7Z has, with Eaton based SC. I looked at a lot of cars. Could have bought a GT track car, a CART race car, a GT3, E63, C63, etc, etc. but at the end of the day I ordered a C7Z because I think it will have the higest fun quotient, and is the best overall performance value. I'll drive it on the road, track it sometimes, and enjoy the view in my garage with a cocktail. Yes there is heat fade with PD blowers, and maybe someone will pass me on occasion, but you'll be able to tell me from them. I'll be the guy smiling knowing I'm lucky to be driving an another awesome car. Can hardly wait to see it, share it with my family and friends, and enjoy an adrenaline rush while I still can. Don't know what some folks are looking for, but Im thankful I'm not that frustrated. Ther're just cars, enjoy them all.

Wow just wow. Cancelling orders over this stuff.
I generally don't buy first year model as there can be bugs and you are going to pay lot more then lose a lot to depreciation as well so that is a few good reasons to wait a bit before getting one.
Car new though will have warranty and some issues will be fixed.
Some issues may get addressed in future model years.

The cars are dynoing good. Some heat soak is to be expected with this type of blower but there are fixes aftermarket and most would be pretty reasonable in price. I have a car similar to this . An 2007 SL55 Mercedes. The early years of my model had heat soak issues. They upgraded the intercooler pump to fix that problem. And there are cheap aftermarket intercooler pumps out as well that are even better . And guys are adding some aux intercoolers as well. The problem was mostly only affecting people running like full out back to back stuff
or serious track guys.

So really not seeing any huge issues with the cars. They have hp left on the table but still dyno well bone stock. Certainly within range 570 to 585rwhp of the rated number of 650 hp.
And as was seen can be taken up to 660rwhp or so with pretty simple inexpensive mods.

Now most guys with them seem to love them not many are reported any major quality issues. Most of the major things like if an engine failed would be warranty anyway. And you can buy long extended warranties from Gm pretty cheaply.

I had a 2008 z06 for few years. Read lots of stuff on problems with it on car boards. But never had one problem with it . Like many say if you have say thousands of happy owners the car boards maybe have small number of unhappy ones or ones that had issues. How many c6 z06 guys really had engine failures from the valve train?
Just as an example.

You can find problems and issues with pretty much any car out there. I own some classics 2007 911 turbo and its been good but its not getting very much mileage on it ,that one is pretty much a garage queen. My SL55 have pretty bad rep and can be very expensive to fix /maintain. But so far its been not too bad.

I wouldn't be worried to buy a c7 z06 right now but not in a huge rush to do so. And as said at top of this post a first year model can have more bugs and they likely will make some improvements as time goes by. And the prices of them will be a lot lower used but its still nice to order something new and pick exactly what options, colors ,etc you want. So don't fault guys buying them now brand new. And if you plan on keeping it till maybe the c8 comes out or even longer then makes even more sense to maybe get a brand new one.

And really what other car is there that comes close to the z06 for price and everything else. Vipers are cheaper now after the big discount but they are still not offered in convertible form or with auto option or removable roof. And some prefer c7 z06 styling over the Viper styling.
Hellcat might have more power but again you have to like the styling and its more a muscle car than a two seater sports car like the Vette.
Porsches are great but very expensive. Italian stuff is crazy expensive to maintain and buy. Not a big ford mustang fan and again to me more a muscle car than sportcar and GTR have had their share of problems as well.... just go on their forums.
