I'm really perplexed with this forum
I'm a first time potential buyer
While I'm encouraged with the dedication of the hobby displayed by members on previous generation cars
I can only assume that all the crazy negativity that I've seen
On the new C7Z will be nothing but a memory as time moves on
This is an exciting time for domestic car builders of all brands
Let's be supportive

Amen. A lot of jealous people who can't afford them bash them for whatever they can find, it's human nature. Very sad but true. I'm absolutely in love with mine and I'm sure you will love it as well! It's just about impossible not too.

I just put the most aromatic turds in the bashing threads on my ignore list and life is good. The owner threads are the best for useful information.

Merry Christmas and welcome

The correct spelling is "cesspool", with a "C", not an "S".
Forums always seem to bring out the worse in people. I say that because I haven't yet met real life individuals as ignorant or stupid as some of the regulars here, so I have to assume they are playing it up to troll others into responding. That's why I don't post much any more. But every once in a while there's a good thread; you just have to learn to ignore the people who don't matter and benefit from the good information when that shows up.

Merry Christmas.

Since I have learned to use the ignore feature!! the C7-Z06 forum has become a really nice place to visit!! LOL! It doesn't take long to figure out the HATERS, Posers and Trolls. The learning how to use the ignore feature was my gift to myself for Christmas. JD

The negativity on this forum is coming from people - like me - who were almost sold a bill of goods. We were promised a near professionally performing track car and what we got was a floozy. A flashy weekend toy for guys in Hawaiian shirts and baseball caps to drive around in and show off their supposed wealth and cache. When you lie to people, expect them to react. GM could have done better but they either caved to the environazis or weren't up to their game or both and almost suckered some of us. Fortunately for the media and places like this forum, I backed out just in time. What you are hearing is the level of disappointment.

Really?

You need to go look at the owner's thread. I think the guy with the Porsche track car is going to be annoyed that he's going to have to find a Hawaiian print fire suit. The guy that put up the dragon video might have a Hawaiian shirt but you'll have to ask him yourself.

Exactly. I came from 2 C6Z06s and a ZR1. This car is not up to snuff. This is a poser car for sure.

Yeah I'm sure all those people with $125,000 ZR1's sitting in their garage that were hoping to upgrade to the C7 Z06 wish they had the cash to actually buy a new one like you do

Or perhaps they are just upset that the car that was supposed to make theirs "obsolete" ended up being an epic failure and now they are better off keeping their C6. There are many, many legitimate criticisms of the C7 Z06 but when anyone tries to objectively discuss them the trolls and fanboys take to personal attacks instead of discussing the true merits (or lack thereof) of the new Z06

It is easy to differentiate trolls and fanboys, from the actual car enthusiasts. Some of you attack the car enthusiasts, by dismissing them into either negative category above. Some of us actually read responses, and have proper discussions like adults.

Trolls and fanboys (both are equally bad) use subjective criteria, and mostly opinions, to back their case. You will never educate or correct these guys, their minds are made up. They will take comments out of context, in order to manipulate the meaning to support their case. They will claim you are jealous, or can't afford something. They will simply resort to personal attacks, threaten you with violent acts, and generally act like teenagers. When they start doing this, they have lost their case. Everyone can see it.

Car enthusiasts use available data, tests, lap times, timeslips, actual driving experience, videos, basically whatever they can learn from - to make points to back their case. Sometimes this data is in favor of their case, sometimes it hurts their case. But, they present and discuss it. The car enthusiasts share their knowledge, whether it be limited or professional level. They do not need personal attacks, or threats to make their point. When corrected, they apologize and move on.

To those reading, which group do you fit in?

Merry Christmas.

Tony

Not sure why you would feel that level of disappointment at this time. Only one professional review has been done and that was very favorable toward the car as a track monster. The so called tuner comments about pulling timing, heat soak and the Viper videos don't do a thing to dispel what Randy Pobst said about the car.

Was there a negative in Randy's review? Yes, at the end the car had an Oil Overtemp warning and may have gone into limp home mode although we can't be sure of that since he just said he had to pit the car. That was with one car not any others since the tuners and the Viper video guys didn't run the cars long enough to get the oil temp that hot.

In summary, a recognized professional track star not connected to GM and who has professionally driven Audi's Porsche's, Mazda's in serious competition and won thinks the car is great. He drove it longer than the guy in the Viper Videos did in all of his runs and the car's lap times increased slightly over several laps but there was no indication whether that was due to the tires going away, an issue with the engine or Randy just over pushing the car trying to get it to go faster.

If I could afford to buy one now I would do so, take it out and do a proper break in for 2500 or more miles and then head to the nearest track once the weather warms up.

Bill

I just purchased my first Z06, I've had 3 others before this all verts, and I have to say I absolutly love this care. I like the new styling; the way the car handles; the way it sounds, and and everything else about it.

I have been on this forum for along time and all this Bs happens every time a new model comes out . When the C6 came out it was Epic here.

I just ignore all the BS and the Keyboard commandos ( who most don't even have a corvette) lol.

I have 2 corvettes now a 61 and a lingenfelter c6 with 600 HP and am ordering a Z06. Im going saturday to look at 2 of them at a local dealer before i place my order with Rick Conti

F all the negativity and the haters.

Also my buddy actually drove one last week in NH and said the thing is a rocket ship and 3rd gear just pulled and pulled.

The funny part to me is is PROB 70% here doing the bitching would never afford to own one and if they got it it would stay in there garage and get 45 coats of Wax..

Buy - Drive it like you stole it . Enjoy it and dont save for the next guy the reality is dropping a 100 K on one and in 6 moths it will be worth 80 so who cares.

It is a rocket ship and a huge bargan / value for the $$ and the time money and Engineering GM put into it is insane. I doubt 99 % of us who buy it will be hot lapping Lime rock every day with it

And the other thing no one talks about and ***** all over is a few people that have dragged them so far.

You can have $$$
You can have *****.

But you cant buy skill of driving and common sense / brains.

Sadly you will see many get killed or in accidents ( just like any other high hp car)

Trying to show off or not use common sense.
