Just give me consistent, coontrolled launches like in a Porsche turbo s without so many embarrassing issues like tranny bumping, heating etc.. along with a DCT auto. I don't care where the engine sits, I just want a respectable world class vette-supercar.
I'm feeling this is a C7 ZR1. From the horrible photos it generally looks the same as any other C7 with a bunch of camo to hide some subtle body changes.

Chevy will look to capitalize on an aging buyer who has cash in the bank for retirement. This isn't the 99% of vet buyers they want, they want the ones that have always bought vets that have done exceptionally well in life, financially.
Nothing wrong with the strategy, but it isn't for the typical corvette buyer.
How about any McLaren? Not really that many. Even a 12c wouldn't be the top choice but still over any Chevy but the new 570S for 180,000 k
Not even close. Let alone any higher models

570S is a very good car. IMO the best McLaren aside from the 675LT. I liked it much more than the 650s and especially the 12C. Its great to be a car guy in this day. So many choices all around..
While this might sound weird to most people...Id still take a Gallardo STS over any McLaren.
It needs to be a corvette. It can share a platform with a Cadillac but it also needs to be a corvette. Cadillac doesn't have the reputation to pull of that kind of car. Corvette sure as hell does.

A mid-engine performance hybrid?
Absolutely it fits Cadillac.
The Ford Gt went for around 175K new, now they went up considerably in a short period of time for a newer car. So Ford seizes on this market and has a new Ford GT 400K car because they want to make the money not have collectors, or car brokers making the money! They filled that market. I am sure R&D and the exotic materials have increased the margins but 400K??? Doubt it. So GM jumps in, same story. Corporate greed, not about car guys, its about seizing that niche market of money guys not car guys.
I am on my third GM truck in 3 years on this new platform. All of them are junk. My new Denali is in the shop for the 7th time. The parts list is stupid. Poor quality, all of them. This thing is 74K!! The Zo7 is 118K!!!! Walk into a Mercedes dealer and look at a S550. Again it's 118K BUT you can see why! GM does not make a car at this level. At this price point GM does not have what it takes. Yes they improved the product but they are not at a 100K level as some of the competition. The quality and issues arising are unacceptable for a 100K plus car non the less 350K-400K. If that is where they go, it will be a big mistake, and will definitely lose some fan base.
You make some good points. If GM wants to market in the luxury sports car market they better up their quality tremendously. If they can't produce consistent quality at the $100K level they certainly can't at the $400K level. It is not acceptable to sell in this price range otherwise. Buyers of Ferrari and other exotics do not cross shop Corvette and if they think they can hang their hat in this market I think they will be surprised.

You're right...very VERY different market above $200k.
Cross shoppers of Ferraris look at Lambos and maybe McLarens, but that's about it.
They would never look at an American car, something Dodge learned the hard way.

For those saying it looks the same as the C7... There is no rear glass / hatchback area on the car in the spyshots. It's like the old spyshots where the rear glass is vertical. While that doesn't mean it's mid engine it certainly suggests it
