It certainly looks like yours has some kind of gradient on it or something creating a gradient like tint to it. Can you take a picture of the front of the camera?
As a confirmed videophile, there is no question in my mind (or eyes) this is different software.
The "no changes in the software" statement was aimed at the image quality aspect. The data display has changed, of course.
If someone isn't happy with the image quality of their camera, then by all means ask the dealer. I can't promise they'll agree with you and swap anything out, but it won't hurt to ask.
This kind of dicribes the poor image we are seeing so perhaps it's just a calibration issue as some have mentioned. This is an older bulletin, but was the only one under PDR/corvette/2014-2017 that I could find.
Right. This is the one Tadge told us about a year or two ago. All cars past that date should have come with that PDR cal.
The date says Feb 1 2017 and the timing issue bulletin impacts all 2015 and 2016 cars. Am I reading something incorrectly? I do recall Tadge discussing the issue a while back in the Ask Tadge. But by the dates it seems darn near everyone is affected and the timing fix is brand new.

I dropped my car off at the dealer for two problems. One was a leak in the rear which turned out to be a bad trans cooler line. They replaced it. I complained about poor image quality on my PDR. The service writer wrote it up as, "freezing up." The technician wrote, updated software due to TSB and timing error.
On left is old software on the right is the new software. It has been cloudy, so I haven't had a good opportunity to compare video quality. The image overlays did not change with the update.
Well attempt #1 at the update was a failure. Software in my PDR not allowing a reflash with the updated version. The dealer has to call GM Monday and get some work around.

^good luck with your failed updates. I was getting this same update for my 2016 cts-v and the dealership failed at it 3 times. They had it for many days and ended up having to get 2 separate pdr modules shipped and installed because of failed updates. The new module I have in the car now works but still doesn't have the latest software. They spent many hours on the phone with engineering and were never able to get a resolution. They're now waiting on a new software update fix before trying it again.
I also had the Feb 1 update installed in my 2015. I haven't been to the track yet to see if the magic 2 seconds are gone but I can confirm that the overlay still looks like it always has on the 2015/16 cars.
I have a hard time understanding why GM would maintain two different software releases if there are no hardware differences between 2017 and prior years.
It took 4 tries for the software to update on my car. I was waiting for it and the mechanic came out and told me they would give me a ride home and call when it was done. I got the call about an hour after I got home and they picked me up. When I got there it still hadn't updated. It went through all of the steps but rejected the last step. We tried it again and it flashed through the update in about 30 seconds which didn't look good based on all the time the first two updates had taken. The 4th time was the charm. It took about 5 minutes for the update to go through.
It was still on my PDR SD card when I got home so I transferred the file over to my PC.

Apparently that file is specific to your vin. Others can load it but subsequent updates will be rejected due to the initial software being overwritten being unrecognized. I guess this is happening on my car yet I've never touched my PDR software.
