This ain't daddy's old corvette. The C6Z/ZR1 and C7/Z are basically race cars brought to the street. It might be time for a CTS V or an ATS V.
You make a good point. Both of those cars are very capable but have a bit less of an edge to them. The CTS-V is too big for my taste but I just drove a friend's ATS-V and loved it. It could be my next DD.
A DSC Sport Magnetic Shock Controller Will Eliminate Your Concern
A DSC Sport shock controller will put a smile on your face. Have to buy it aftermarket but you can recover most of the cost selling it when you get rid of the car.
On my way home from work today I became convinced that this car rides way to rough. I think the tires are the culprit. Lot of noise and i must have hit like 300 IEDs....no fun

I haven't switched the runflats on the Z yet as I have not really found a suitable replacement. The availability of tire selections are limited due to the size of the rear tires. I am not a runflat fan and I am holding out for a suitable all season tire to eliminate changing tires twice a year. If all else fails I will switch to Michelin Pilot Super Sport non runflats. Prior to the Z06 I had a 2014 Stingray and it was incredibly smooth riding. It was also a street cruiser and we did the entire Route 66 in it on the original roads where they were available. We had the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+s on it and they were wonderful. But, it had 18" on the front and 19" on the rears and the A/S 3s are currently not available in 20". There is also a question of grip with the power of the Z06. That said, I have found the ride of the Z06 very acceptable for a street legal track car even with the OEM runflats.
I put non run flats on my C6Z which made it a lot smoother.
I also have customs shocks which also smooth it out.
It is still, not as smooth as a C7Z in touring mode.
But I still love her
I am an old motorhead and it appears there are a lot of us on the forum, but we are a dying breed, no pun intended. I just heard on the morning news that the fan base of NASCAR is in serious decline and Uber is replacing private car drivers. Sort of a natural or unnatural progression I suppose, but I hope to keep going fast until I am gone. I drive the mini cooper a good bit more than the corvette and it is more fun in its own way, a pint sized marvel that can be just as entertaining. But, it has a bone jarring ride on rough mountain roads and it makes me appreciate how smooth the C7 actually is.
