We went with the dry option as it filters better over a longer period of time than the oiled alternatives, and reduces the risk of filter oil contaminating the MAF sensors of which the Z06 is very sensitive to.

Installed mine in a 2017 M7 before taking it to Sebring. The car immediately threw a code on the back straight going into 17. Mine is untuned, no other mods. Had to deal with reduced engine power until I could get off track. Kind of dangerous but I knew what it was.

'17 Z here. I installed the filter and popped a code at the drag strip on one of the many runs that day. I have the new ECU calibration on the car from GM and zero issues at the drag strip and road course. The car is a bone stock A8 car otherwise.

I just finished installing the BMS on my 2017 A8. I have bolt-ons including a 9% crank pulley. Had a Green and tuned with the pulley. The BMS was way lean with the Green tune. Once tuned the BMS does make more power! My HP Tuner logs show a nice increase.

I didn't do a before and after dyno but I gained some significant MPH at the track. I know weather will make this vary but it was consistently faster with the BMS filter.

What speeds were you seeing on the straights? Mine just got delivered today and wanted to know if/how many people were having issues at high speeds (140mph+)

On one road course track, I hit 154 and a little over 140 on another. No issues.

Damn so it's about a 50/50 with people having issues with the BMS install and people without issues.

I'm at 10k miles right now and i'm debating on buying a stock filter (2 year maint for me, not 25k miles), or just taking a chance and ordering a BMS.

I don't mind if it doesn't work, and even if i have to resell the filter on this forum to get some money back and return to stock. But the thought of the car going into limp mode when i'm out there on the road is kinda scary to think about. That's the only thing that's making me hesitant.

Got mine installed. No issues at all. Can definitely feel it in the butt dyno. Wakes the car up for sure. No check engine light up to 120 so far.

Me too. Mine is a 2017, I installed it before the doing the computer flash and had it in after the computer flash . In either case I did not have an issue. It is an easy install and doubt you will throw a code. If you do get a light, you can clear it easily. I have the Filter and Mano TB and do not have issues.

Terry@bms

Ask Terry about his money back guarantee if it sets off trouble codes on your car.

Surely he will not deny you a refund if hs filter does not work properly on your car that would force you have an expensive tune performed on your car to get his filter to work properly without dangerously leaning out your engine that risks engine damage and voiding of your Chevrolet warranty due to an altered tune.

Default +1 For BMS

I have had mine about a month now. Eliminated the hesitation or delay at takeoff. No codes. No issues. The filter has worked as advertised. I have no other mods. 2016 M7.

I have the BMS and ported TB on 17 m7 z07, threw a P0106 and limp mode after passing 150. All went away after a normal day of driving. Accordingly this is common and there is a flash for it.
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...yesterday.html

Car is currently at dealer getting re-flashed plus couple other goodies, They were familiar with the issue. Will know shortly if the flash resolves it or not.

I installed one on my 18 about 9 months ago and 6k miles with no issues, feels as good as those other CAIs at a fraction of the price.

Hmm so now I'm starting to think. The people that had codes maybe they're pushing the car too early before the ECU can relearn the new mod? Is that why?

I may just buy one. I'm off from work in a couple of weeks so at least if something goes wrong I can swap out easily.

I'll update this thread with my results.

It permanently fixed mine. Never came back after the reflash in March. This pertains to 2017's & early 2018's

Default Review of BMS filter

I've had the BMS air filter installed in my 2016 Z51 Stingray for about a month now, and I'm very pleased with its performance. Here are my impressions:

(1) The installation was straightforward, and took me about 25 minutes. The filter is a pretty tight fit, so getting the intake cover back on took some effort. Once installed, no codes or other issues, and the engine seemed to adjust to the filter immediately. This is a simple mod that really anyone can do with a few basic tools (flat-blade screw driver, 7mm hex nut driver, #25 torx driver).

(2) I have not had the car dyno'd, but independent dyno tests on similar Stingrays have produced peak increases of about 10 hp and 9 lb-ft of tq (and even somewhat larger non-peak hp and tq deltas near redline). Although in a car this powerful this is not enough to really notice SOTP, every increase helps and it does provide bragging rights (470 hp, 474 lb-ft sounds way better than 460 hp, 465 lb-ft ;-).

(3) As many have noted, throttle response is much better. And by throttle response I don't just mean less pedal needed for a given rpm; I mean the LT1's annoying tendency to stutter or momentarily pause on sudden WOT is gone. I mean GONE. Mash the pedal all the way down and the response is immediate. No annoying stutter. No annoying pause. Just gone baby, gone ;-). This is a big deal because it makes the driving experience much more enjoyable.

(4) The exhaust sound is noticeably louder. This is most evident on cold startup with a fast idle: With the BMS filter providing better air flow and the NPP exhaust wide open the sound is just gorgeous. Same thing on WOT: A raucous rumble is transformed into a thunderous roar.

(5) Also, the annoying quirks of the GM 8L90 (A8) transmission are virtually gone! This is big. Many owners of C7 Corvettes with the A8 trans, especially Stingrays, complain that some gear changes flare and slip and others are jerky and harsh (in both M and D modes). In my own car, the 2-3 upshift often flares and slips, and the 4-5 upshift tends to be jerky and harsh. The colder the transmission the worse it is, but it never goes away. That is, it never went away until I installed the BMS air filter. Now, suddenly, once warm there’s no more slipping and flaring, and no more harsh and jerky upshifts -- just smooth shifts up and down the gears the way it should be. I don't know exactly what's going on here, but I suspect the added torque across the rpm range and the fact that the trans runs a few degrees warmer with the BMS filter installed are just enough to resolve the issue. This problem varies somewhat from car to car (and GM says it's "normal"), but I expect that nearly every A8 Stingray owner with the BMS filter installed will notice a significant improvement in shifting.

(6) With the improvements noted above the car is now a lot more fun to drive but the mileage remains about the same -- if you can keep your foot out of it ;-).

So, that's about it. Overall, I’m very pleased with the BMS air filter. For me, the improvements in throttle response, A8 shifting and exhaust sound really enhance the driving experience (and don’t forget about those hp/tq bragging rights ;-).

Just put ine on my car, first start up there was reduced engine power on the dash, but after leaving it alone for 30 to 40 mins it went away. The main thing I have noticed in the 5 miles of driving is that the throttle is much more responsive when you are leaving off a light, I really like how it left it was really smooth
