That would be pretty cool if true but he also posted pics of the ZR1 from last month or two ago and there hasn't been a released time yet. I would speculate a ZR1 time will come but would he a bit surprised if they do a new Z06 time since like someone else said it's "old news" now - just speaking from a marketing perspective I mean...they usually release lap times close to when the model itself is first revealed not years later. Right now the marketing dollars are going towards the Zl1 and next will likely be the ZR1.

As for z06 Ring times this may be a more accurate picture

In 2012 as the C6 generation was in its twilight GM ran both the C6 Z06 and ZR1 and published both times. Let's see if history repeats itself.

That's pretty cool. Everyone on the other Ring thread seems like they've concluded it won't happen at all.

Bet it won't be in a 2015 or 2016 Z and if true it proves the previous attempts didn't cut the mustard or it kept puking coolant out. That's why we see the 2017 over there now I assume.

why so negative? This is great if a time is released soon, I'm quite eager after learning this today! And your first response is just speculating/ridiculing why it would only be a 17 model and not 15 or 16 lol.
ZR1? What ZR1" was Tadge's reply to my questions, with a chuckle. Our conversation started around my Nurburgring Edition, etc.. My question was not intended to get any breaking news - I was simply asking if they are pushing the one currently at the Ring, or if they're simply just tuning, etc. He then follow-up by saying they really can't discuss, which I understand, and I wasn't about to be a jerk and push it. The man was uch a gentleman - he came all the way over to my car to look it over, compliment me on it and autoggraoh it. But he also told me the Z06 Nurburgring numbers will be announced in the near future, at a major event. Stay tuned!
Thanks for great Intel zhopper, I dug up this old post right now and have no idea how it was not really noticed or mentioned by anyone in all the skeptical lack of Ring time threads. Granted O haven't logged on here in a while.

Does anyone have any guesses what major event in the summer this could be at?

Not negative, they were at the Ring with a 2015 and maybe again with a 2016 yet never released a time. Now it looks like they are back with a 2017 ( I said... I assume) which has cooling improvements. It's a known fact they had issues when they were there a year or 2 ago.

I think we all know about the previous Ring runs, Tadge said they were rained out, one time we saw pics of a crash, then they had a successful run but didn't release it for reasons they couldn't say....but now that Tadge personally told a CF member that a time will be released this summer I think that's exciting news and anyone whose initial response is to ridicule why a 17 model time may be released rather than a 15 or 16 does come across negative.

This is true I remember now. But it could have been seen as a fluke. Or 'just that car' thinking. GM is a big boat, things don't happen as fast as they should.

which year C6 Z06 did they get the valves to stop falling out of the heads?

which year C6 Z06 did they stop using LCD technology, you know like that calculator a few posts up?

which year C6 Z06 did they finally do away with the bland old man round taillights configuration?

I could go on all day about the shortcomings of the C6Z in today's automotive environment. Yes, we all thought it was awesome in 2006 but the definition of awesome has changed over the last 10 years even if your perspective has not.

Yet another ring thread with the C6 boyz throwing grenades at the C7Z. That makes two this week. Those guys should worry about their own problems. Oh the irony, you can't make this stuff up....

If they do release a ring time with a 2017 model it is mostly irrelevant if you own a 2015 or 2016 model since we are not comparing the same car. Also interesting to note is that we still don't have a factory package available to upgrade the 2015 and 2016 models to 2017 spec.
