I would also recommend getting a set of MSD plug wires. They fit much better with headers, especially 2 inch primary headers. You can snap them on the plugs and then "shape" that side by slightly bending them away from the header for clearance.
Plus 1 on the anti-seize. I used the factory wires and used the titanium shields. Be sure to get the ones without the wire or they won't slip over your boots.

Good info. Can you show a like or part number for the recommended titanium shields for stock plug wires.
Thanks Bob

If you're going to reuse the OEM plug wires make sure you have the proper tool to pull the boots off of the plugs. You can easily damage one of them without realizing and then chase your tail with a misfire.

Thanks,
What does it mean by "no ring"?
Do you slide these over the stock wires and the aluminum insulator?

Thanks for the help!!!

Some have a wire ring and they absolutely won't slide over the plug boots. If you're making up you wires the ones with rings look neater but they won't work with premade wires. At least not for me. Ninja is right, you need the tool to pull the plug wires off without damaging them. It's worth it to have one. I always use the tool.

Something like this will work but they make one specifically for plug wires too.

I have 2 that I use

CTA Tools 3052 Spark Plug Wire Boot Pliers

SPARK PLUG WIRE PLIERS BY JTC 1633

Depending on the angle they both work well.

In my other builds, I use MSD plug wires.
What do you all recommend?

I've had zero problems with the factory wires that I didn't cause.

I forgot to tell you to take the steering shaft loose. I'm guessing you figured that one out. The other side might be a bit tighter...

I bought the system from Weapon X during their Memorial Day sale. They had an option of ceramic coating at check out. They use calico coatings.

Those guys do a great job. I decided to do it myself but I haven't tracked the car since. The first track day will tell the tale.

I still recommend the MSD wires. Easier fitment and install/removal. All brand new so much less worry about damaged during removal. I've done headers on all 4 of my Corvette's and each time I used a new set of MSD wires. Cheap insurance in my opinion to not have to deal with any wire or fitment issues.

Thanks, I’ll probably do the same.
