Why do you believe that turbos are superior to superchargers? Seems like there are pros and cons to each.
Is this a serious question?
Dumbing it down, no supercar is running a blower. They're all twin turbos. Exhaust gas driven is much more efficient than belt driven.
"Inflation". LOL We all know what happened, and exactly who is responsible.
Regardless, this is also blatant C8 price gouging. Just wait for non-thief vendors to offer a fairly priced twin turbo package and run HP tuners. Superior to belt driven superchargers, and you won't be a victim of greed or this unprecedented "inflation".
Do you really believe they will offer significantly cheaper options? I don't have a C8, but I do somewhat follow the development, and it seems like all the current options, supercharger or turbos, are extremely expensive compared with what could be purchased for the C6 and C7 generations. A S/C kit from anyone seems to be 3x the price of previous gen kits. It seems the C8 platform has gone to another level of cost for modification.
I don't necessarily think costs have tripled but you're not wrong. Lots of new to the brand buyers, lots of money flooding into the Corvette aftermarket. You were seeing big money builds of these cars within mere months of being on sale back in 2020. It was bound to happen. I'd say that everything for these cars is up anywhere from 50% on the low end to doubled on the higher end.

Am I wrong?
Yes, in a way, you’re not correct.
callaway, aside from a brief period where they handled the engineering and distribution of Magnuson products in the 2006-2009 era, has not been about kits.
Rather, they engineer and install packages like you would expect from the manufacturer. They remain the ONLY company which has worked directly with GM/Corvette for added power and received a factory option code for such vehicles.
What they do stands out.
It’s that simple, but does come at a higher cost than most.
And I’ve been okay with that, paying my money over the years for that level of engineering and integration. Over 35 years of experience with Corvettes and I just have not seen any comparables.
Well said. I have found Callaway to be a reputable organization, that really tries to please its clientele. You do get what you pay for and having a product that is certified is worth a premium.
Hello all, I'm a sales rep at a Chevy Dealer in Northern VA.. I'm currently facilitating an order for a client of mine and have been a long-time reader but just now made an account. I had the opportunity to visit and meet the team in the Old Lyme office about a month ago. Received a tour of the facility, and have a solid understanding of what goes on day to day. My client's car just finished production in KY last week and will be shipped directly to Old Lyme as soon as factory QC is complete. I'm happy to answer any questions and will probably ask some of you owners some questions. I took some pictures, saw and poked around the orange car with the paint-matched SC and widebody kit. Happy to check on order statuses for any of you who have placed factory C8 orders and don't have a responsive sales rep.
My car is finally done at Callaway. It was supposed to be already picked up by Plycar but Plycar cancelled due to drivers taking time off for the holidays. It is supposed to be on the first trip headed East after the holidays.
There were model year 2023 related calibration issues and another change that had to be taken care of so that delayed things a bit after SEMA ended.

what exactly is done to your car by callaway?
are you getting the 3 L 6th Gen Whipple supercharger that Callaway was working on, or when does that become available?

Yes, I had their supercharger package installed and their C8 wheels. The supercharger package is available now, but they have a waiting list of cars to be done.

congrats. Can you give us all the details? It all seemed like vaporware with no details, specs, pricing, performance numbers, Etc
Gen4™ Supercharging with TripleCooled™ Intercooling
A new, fourth generation “Gen4™” supercharger system has been developed specifically for the Corvette C8 platform. The twin-screw compressor design, with 2900cc displacement, provides massive charge air volume under generous positive manifold pressure for dramatic increases in horsepower and torque. During steady state cruising, deceleration and idling, a bypass valve is applied, diverting inlet air past the compressor section. This results in a requirement of less than 1 horsepower to drive the supercharger assembly, maximizing fuel economy and minimizing engine stresses. To keep the intake charge cool and dense for increased power, the patented TripleCooled™ intercooling system utilizes three low restriction air-to-liquid heat exchangers for maximum heat transfer, especially effective during extended power demand.
To confirm, Callaway is using the 3.0L 6th Generation Whipple supercharger, correct?
Basically, the same supercharger in the links below?
you spent how much? And waited how long when you could of had an e ray or zo6!
Exactly. Makes no sense what so ever. Relax,Don't do it,When you want to....
For it to make any sense the base package price would have to come in below the price of an E-Ray or ZO6. In the mean time take good care of your C8. Get on a list. And use your C8 as the down payment on that e-Ray or zo6. If you're into it have at it but none of the FI or NA power boosts make economic sense. Let alone w/0 the handling and brake upgrades on the E or z version. Trade in value on a modified car

up here in Canada it was nearly impossible to get an allocation/ order for a Z or Eray . That’s why I was contemplating Callaway conversion but it never happened . Some areas still won’t be able to fill the demand for years . I finally got an allocation for a Z so I don’t feel so bad getting my refund back from Callaway
