How many disappointed?

C8 is right on the mark for me. Enine where it belongs, looks the part, and with the dct, less opportunity to spin it on the way in due to a bad shift.
Gonna add one to the fleet...

I Had an MR2, great pocket rocket... But you need to clean your glasses and unplug your ears so you can hear the roar of a V8.

I hesitate to type "add me to the disappointed pile." I know it is silly as i have not driving a true DCT car. But, I need a manual transmission with a clutch pedal. It is so rewarding to blip the throttle on a downshift and constantly strive to get a perfect upshift during "spirited" driving. This Stingray model will appeal to a larger audience for sure...and that means more revenue. I can't fault Chevy for that. I'm pretty optimistic that a manual transmission will be offered in the C8Z and ZR1 models.
The massive selling point is that $60k price tag for a brand new one. Once the dealer markups calm down (hopefully by next year). The 60k price point is ridiculous for what the C8 offers. And almost all C8 owners (self included, possibly) will not be able drive the C8 to its limits.
But as other CF members have said, I need to see one in person and sit in it. So looks like I'll be hitting up the local cars and coffee looking for a C8 owner.
And yes, I will wave to C8 owners. Ha!

I think Fenwick makes an interesting point re if you saw that particular pic a year ago and said it's a Camaro, would it be believable. My answ. is yes, it would, or could be. Maybe a slight mental "stretch" but not without possibility.
For me, I'll really have to see that rear end from many angles, and up close plus slightly away. It's got a lotta activity going on.
Anyone have a good guess on timeline for convertible reveal?

Not a fan of the Camaro looking rear end, the button bar separating the cockpit, the large touch screen and the location of the volume ****. Love the fact its ME wish that had done it sooner, like the styling and surprised they figured out how to make the base price as low as they did.

I think they set the base at 495 HP for insurance reasons. And based on performance specs, this will meet 80% of users needs...
And in reality, to get the most out of power over 500HP, you need to start going all wheel/even hybrid which is likely coming

disappointed? not hardly, what a great change, after the ugly C6 and the marginally better C7 this is a home run, awesome interior, more room, more choices for colors, driver centered controls, great engine, 60k start, and this is just the beginning. All the comments about it looks like this car or that car, what vehicle doesn't these days to some degree. BFD

And did you see the trunk space in the Ford GT or McLaren… did not think so.
The C7 looks great. And it does have the advantage of the space in the rear where my Lab can lay down... That's the negative of the mid engine, the only one worth mentioning. in the C8 which would affect my purchase, the rest is all positive.

They showed it at the end, or close to what it will be.

and the thing is since that hideous side fang is both on the door and the back rear panel, it will be nearly impossible to fix with after market mods.

And yet that looks great, but visually not much different than the coupe with the top off. And of course you appear to lose the engine jewel box view.
I really feel no need to get a convertible feel/enjoyment in this case over the coupe. With the C7, the convertible was a very nice upgrade. Great place to save 5K.

It looks amazing and if it performs like it looks it will be the best selling Corvette ever..... this is a drivers car...... cant wait to try it on a track!!!!

I like the front end and I like the side view both very much and the overhead view too is impressive. The rear is very iffy with those pointless depressed areas and the spoiler shown is cheap looking. Taillights? meh.
After DECADES in the making of this halo car the interior is an epic failure in design, looks and appeal. Cheap and Cheesy looking come to mind. Unless they have some two tone color variant to break it up and hide the hideousness of it all, it will make for a wonderful vomitorium.
My C7 3LT red and black with 2 tone seats on a arctic white body were a stunning improvement in classy interiors from previous models.
WIll I buy it? I'm not sure yet, possibly. I may keep the C7 and add the C8 but like before, I'll wait 2 years to see reliability reports and decide then. No disrespect to those that say "GM hit it out of the park" on looks, price and performance yes, but your expectations for interior quality and appeal must be mighty low.

I think it could have been better, but it still looks real nice. The engine display through the rear windshield is awesome. I will get one in a few years. Still love my C5 to death, so no rush

EVERYTHING people are complaining about is due to the HYBRID version upcoming
1 . There was no need for the huge center tunnel , so why make it ? ..it's because that is where the battery will be housed
2 . that button rail everyone hates is the line the ENTIRE center console will have in the hybrid because under it is where the ESC brake regen and motor controls will be housed and cooled just like the Porsche 918
3 . That square back end gives all that room for storage in the Stingray but will be used to house the rear brake regen system and active aero system in the hybrid
4 , the "gopher tooth" in the front grille will be used for an S duct identical to the Ferrari Stradale for down force in performance versions you can see where they twisted the frame to accommodate it in the pics of the front frame also you can see the bump to accommodate spindles for front drive
This is not a one and done car it is a platform for future iterations we must remember that

I really wanted to like the C8 as I never really liked the C7 but I can't get over the awful looking rear end or the interior.
The front and side profile looks stunning and then you get to the back and it's like GM just gave up.

I always reserve final judgement until seeing it in the flesh but from the pics I think it looks better than the C7 which I've not liked from the start. Sure it no longer looks like a front engined car because it's not a front engined car. It's a little too knife edged origami for me, I like curves but again, better than the C7. Not even close to the pure sex of the Ford GT though. The wheels do nothing for me and the tail lights are still too Camaro for me. That's one area they could have kept some old Corvette design cues. The interior is pretty weird with the button escalator, I'm fine with the steering wheel. Storage space looks pretty good for a ME car but that's always one of the shortcomings compared to a front engine. Also, all the storage is remote from the cabin, no more having a cooler with drinks & snacks behind the seats. That's a big deal when you are driving 600 miles in a day and don't want to stop just to get a diet coke out. My C6 is my only car and it's a great GT, I've taken it on 2000 mile road trips. C8 will be a better sports car, that's the goal but it's won't hold a candle to a C6 for road trips.
Overall I think Chevy has done good and Zora would be proud.

So you like form over function? I like the wart on the side. Its the most aggressive styling on the car. And with a big V8 there needing to be cooled, not some eco 6 or 4 cylinder, it needs to be large for air flow. We don't want the cooling problem with C7 Z06 again. yea WART!
