Unfortunately with the markup in the US the Atom is well over $60k.

I have my doubts about the 0-60 in 3 seconds. The GT3RS has 20hp more, weighs 450lb less, uses wider and stickier tires, and can barely hit 3 seconds flat.

Well it's a manufacture claimed time, which usually aren't very accurate to begin with. Once the car mags get a hold of it we will get a better idea, if they do something like 3.05 then it's pretty safe to say it can get under 3 too. But if it does something like 3.2 then you know they just fed everyone marketing bs which isn't uncommon anyway. To my knowledge they haven't actually said an exact time which is always concerning when they give vague info. They should know the exact 0-60 time but they aren't saying the exact number for some reason. Kind of like how they market it for "under" 60k which wont be true once you add in destination. Time will tell though, even if it does 3.2 or 3.3 it's still a good value for performance.

The LT2 makes 125ftlbs more torque at 900 rpms lower, that’ll help move the extra weight which actually helps with traction. You keep throwing around 3600lbs, I think it’s closer to 3500 full of fluids as I don’t think a new Z51 doesn’t necessarily had as much weight as in the C7 model. Regardless GM didn’t say it ran the number with a full tank of gas, that means it might be only 3400lbs w/o driver and low on fuel. Is there a standard of what coefficient of friction surface a manufacturer uses to record 0-60mph or what the DA is? There’s so many variables that it could easily be skewed and hard to make a true comparison if you’re concerned about a tenth.

With a whopping 25hp more and equipped with PDK the GT3 RS will make more power during the entire 0-60 run. Look at power under the curve at the top of the rev range. The GT3 RS will make more than 495hp throughout. The extra torque won't help in this test.

3,600lb seems right to me, we're talking about the Z51 to go under 3 seconds which has more equipment.

There is no standard, but if you put together GM advertisment with Porsche's the C8 Z51 should be faster than GT3 RS. Something tells me if you put them side by side with equal fuel that's not what you'll see.

HP is just a measurement of torque, we don’t know the trans gear ratios of the C8 yet nor the power curve of the LT2 exactly though for the GT3RS to match the overall torque of 1st gear in the C8 it would have to be lower than 2.86 which I don’t believe it is given we know the first 6 gears are equal or greater than 1:1 like the PDK and the rear gear is 3.80 on the Z51. Time will tell how close the C8 is to the much more expensive P-car, the LT2 with it’s optimized intake and exhaust extended its peak hp and torque ~500rpms so it’s no slouch up top.

I'll bet you can go to the drag strip and find a dozen of them.
