Reviews hit next week, will anyone change their minds?

But if you are mostly concerned about 0-60 the C8 should give the ZL1 a run for the money.

I think there are people that have put refundable deposits down based on the hype. This happens a lot with cars that get a lot of press/publicity. I am sure there will be very favorable reviews and some reviews that may highlight negatives about the car and we will see how many people might have second thoughts when they do the math on the car payment.
But make no mistake for every person that drops out there will be someone to replace them for at least the first 12-18 months. Will be interesting to see what happens with the economy based on the current political climate as well as the entire automotive market trending down as it is. Some of that may cause some people to hit the pause button before either dropping that much cash, or wanting to take on that much debt.

To late for me I have 1k down and a production week of 1/7/20. I am more worried about the stupid strike ending soon.
i think the reviews will be strong with some comments about the interior being better but still behind some of its competitors. Performance will be strong but the low redline will be an issue for some as most ME are north of 7k RPMs.

since when did 6700 rpms become a low redline?
lets look at hp and tq figures below the curve ...
these reviewers have to find some faults otherwise they are not earning their contract wage and they wont be asked back for the next wave of reviews
twenty years of corvettes, a quarter of a million miles in them...i never felt like a 6700 rpm rev limit was low...
I doubt Ill start now just because the engine git dropped behind the driver...
a lot of the reviewers like the higher rev limit as it minimizes the amount of shifting on a road course they have to do but wait...the sports cars today have dct shift so who gives a flyin f ck as it only take a few milliesconds to up shift...
the supposedly low redline of 6700 rpms is more nonsense.
they have to find something or some other contract worker will take their place...

Will be interesting to see what they think but is not the reason I buy a car. Got my 2012 Grand Sport without a test drive, hard to get anyway..loved the car. Bought my 2015 Z06 the same way, love it too. The new C8 is way more car than anything before it, I know when I get mine will be the same thing. It is fun to say , my car can go 194, thanks car magazines....but I like my drivers license right where it belongs, back pocket!

Nope. I've learned enough to know I don't want one. The entire package is off. I certainly wouldn't be foolish enough to be buying one knowing zilch about it, as well as sight unseen, as all the lemmings here are.

I believe most of us are just waiting for our predictions regarding performance. And the question is how much quicker is the Z51 compared to the base model through the 1/4 mile. By now it's pretty obvious that the Z51 will dominate the base model on any road course. For me, it's a coin toss between the two. And actually my trade in amount will dictate my final decision.

Good luck getting any type of test drive for the first year. Every car will likely be sold and dealers will not allow someone to test drive someone else's car. Probably sometime in 2021 you will be able to test drive one off the lot.

The Chevy Dude said you can come in and test drive his C8 when he gets it in February or March 2020 at the dealership where he works so there will be test drives somewhere. Some dealers are also ordering cars for demos....there will be plenty of C8’s out there this will not be a rare car.

After reading all the panting, drooling, teaser comments the car magazines have already sent in their email versions I would expect a love fest in the first drive/road test reviews. The 0-60 & top speed thing is already done so the potential to kill enthusiasm is limited to handling & braking.
The mid engine design should have those things covered.

I am interested in the reviews and finding out more about the performance numbers but I always take a magazine review of ANYTHING as opinion and not fact. The most anti GM guy from the mag may be writing the article and bad mouth the car simply due to that.

Only if they discover some truly major problem that we haven't considered yet. If the DCT shifts like a Mack Truck with 300,000 miles on a tranny with no oil in it, something like that.
