My OEM Z51 brakes don't squeal. I've had a pebble lodge in my caliper (as have others).

I did have my left front brake pads rubbing all of a sudden at any speed. The dealer replaced them with OEM pads and fixed the problem. But never any squealing from the brakes.

Default Anyone else get a P2855 code?

Just got the CEL on (1200 miles), with P0700 (transmission control request to turn on CEL) and P2855 (Manufacturer Defined). I read someone else got these codes and took it to the dealer, but dealer just reset the codes with a no fault found. If it wasn't for Covid, I would take it to the dealer, but if its not an issue, it should reset itself eventually. Anyone else get the P2855 code or know what it means?

I have the same issue with my 2020. GM has a service bulletin on the problem. (Bulletin No.: 20-NA-091) No resolution except keep resetting

Re. memory seat not remembering
Typical GM solution for electronic bugs.
I used the outside mirror tilt-down feature in my C7 for parking when the car was put into reverse. There was a bug where the mirrors sometimes wouldn't return to their proper position when the selector was put back into drive. The bug was never corrected the entire time I owned the car.

Default Dash adjustment

Happy to report that the dealer was able to adjust my left dash / speaker cover.

The dealer was able to adjust, there is two screws apparently. Hard to get at.

I don't think it applies to most cars, but I was de-sensitized to brake squeak during slow stops by motorcycles. My track bikes would always scream during slow stops when the pads were cold because they were race-spec pads than needed the heat to soften up. They were silent on the track, silent when warm, and silent on anything but slow stops.

My 2020 Z51 does not make any noise with OEM pads. (2800 mi) Even the brake dust problem that others have commented on has not been more than a normal sports car IMO.

Same here. It is embarrassing. Will be trying to replace the pads and rotors and see if it comes back. Fluid as well for tracking

Amazing my C7 pads never made a sound in 24K. Dust was minimal as well.

HTC MALFUNCTION

not closing correctly. I can see a gap around the outside and inside of the roof. Any remedy before I take it to the dealer. It would be a great help. Thanks

…but it’s not unique to the vettes. I laughed when I saw this thread because it rang a bell to something similar in the Porsche manual. They refer to it as brake ‘acoustics’. Interestingly - my wife also shakes her head every time she backs out of the garage in her E-class. Embarrassing to have a car like that - which squeals when slowing backing out of the garage. Attached the except reference from the Porsche manual.

Car COMPLETELY DEAD after update in just 4 hours! Says "failed update" on the screen. To get out of the car I had to use the emergency handle. Not even enough power to unlock the door. I drove it not more than 4 hours earlier. How the hell can a fully charged battery be DEAD in just 4 hours?

This really stinks. I'm sorry but I hope someone gets fired for this. Completely unacceptable. Its going into the dealer tomorrow morning to get 2 improperly cast rims replaced and see if they can fix my radio, which I know will take weeks. They already said the dash has to come out and Chevy has to approve it first.

I open the My Chey app -- it fails to open at all. Just gives me a white screen.

And GM really thinks we want all electric cars with more computers and more software?

I'm beginning to lose faith in this car...

If it were me I would disconnect the battery for 10 minutes, hook it up and charge it overnight. Good luck & keep us posted.

Wow I thought the rim issue was on the 21s, sounds like you have a nice paper weight. They will figure it out probably a bad line of code here and there.

So thanks to some youtube clips I was able to get into the car then find the HIDDEN release for the front trunk and remove the panels (a complete PITA). Now I'm hoping a repair truck can jump it and then I can get it at least out of our underground garage the flat bed over to the dealer.

Man this SUCKS!

You might want to "naively" ask your dealer, as well as Chev Concierge, to explain to you Lemon Laws.

As well, invoice Chev a reasonable amount for your time and out-of pocket expenses. The amount per hour depends upon your present income. Be prepared to send the same invoice to your dealer at the first sign he is less than 100 % supportive of your claim for loss of use of a big investment. Keep in mind: your dealer is an agent of Chev: he works for them, and is the one who sold you a troubled product.

Further, keep close records on how many days your car has been out of service, and demand to your dealer that your warranty be extended by that amount of days, or more. My dealer initially refused to lift a finger to help me extend my warranty for 1.5 months of lost use. Without going into detail, let's just say at the end of the day my warranty was extended by 1 year, and to 75,000 miles instead of 36,000. Maybe the dealer suddenly remembered the power of social media...who knows?
