C8 must return to ORIGINAL design. AT LEAST ZO6 deletes tacked-on scoop +Front bloat

However, the early mock ups are before engineering, cost, packaging and regulatory concerns are all addressed. All of those things impacted the car and we now have the C8. Can GM change it? Of course they can. Will they? Hmmm, not too likely. Subtle changes will likely happen but as others have stated, there isn't any financial impetus for making a change this early in the lifecycle with sales going very well. Now, since they invested so much money in this platform it is possible they will keep the C8 for a long time and have a mid cycle refresh in 4 or 5 years to reignite base model sales without moving to the C9 right away.

I prefer the contrast and do not like the body painted option. The monotone, to my eye, is way too understated. As is the prototype that you posted. I believe contrasting trim adds to the aggressive appearance of the C8 and it will greatly add definition to the wide body performance models.

the side intake is my favorite feature of the C8 design

Put the OP and Newcardude into the cage for a final C8 grudgematch
Then add Zerv in the lightning round with a big $169K sticker on his clown mask

I agree with the use of a McLaren GT as a design comparative mostly because it is very elegant. The rear of the McL GT is also a big design win IMHO.
A year ago, I would have sided with the OP no questions, but the "boomerangs" have grown on me and as been stated, I have a feeling in 3D and in person versus pictures, they may actually resolve better. Maybe a case were time is on the side of edgy versus elegance. I feel the same way about the C7 Z06 design...initially on pictures it was a tack on disappointment but now in person...it's WoW! Great compromise "tack on/elegance".

This guy’s been here a month, starts trolling immediately, and starts a thread yesterday in which he is the main character re-arguing the same point over and over in a different way. 22 posts in his own thread in one day. Looks like he went to bed early so expect more of his cameo today. His MO is calling other people’s posts: WORTHLESS. NEGATIVE. OBTUSE. OK. 😂
As to the original point of your brilliant, positive and spot on post, I respect your opinion. I disagree.

Oh and he’s edited 8 of his 22 posts on this thread. Shoot first. Aim later.
Since you have only 2 likes on your OP out of 2500 views, maybe that should tell you something about your demand that General Motors MUST return to its original design.

Every design is going to have components to it that some will like and some will not. Sometimes the design has to give a little in aesthetics to follow engineering. The sum of all the parts in the final product is what really counts. While there are some things in the clay design that can be seen by some as better, they are obviously seen by others as not. It's subjective. The market will decide whether the design is a success or failure.
If the sum of the final design is unappealing to you, you have some options:
1) Move on and get something else
2) Wait for the next design
3) Get the car and have custom parts made.
4) Send your resume to GM and shoot for the Chief of Design job.
Considering that the first two years of production are already pretty much sold out, I would guess that GM sees this design as a success and is going to stick with it for at least a few years. What they do with the Z06 et al remains to be seen.

You mean the sketches he posts to try to infer he knows what he is talking about without adding any context or information to describe why he even posted a pic, lol? Those are great. Almost as good as the guy who posts the same pics of his "BB hotrod" or the route he takes through his neighborhood, lol.

These boomerangs and “tacked on” scoops are rather silly looking but not a deal breaker for most people. It looks acceptable now but the question is, will it stand the test of time. I think, and this is just my opinion, it will not stand the test of time. This car will look dated in 5 years and very dated in ten. Remember the Aztec?
If I were ordering a C8 I likely would spring for the body color scoops or get a darker color where they stand out less.
It will be interesting to see what C9 will look like. I would assume that it will be a refinement of C8 in the way that C7 was a refinement of C6 and C5 in many ways.
I do tend to agree that C8 is going to look dated; if I remember correctly at least some of the design was done years ago, but C7 was interposed as a less radical upgrade.

They will do what they always do, they will widen the front and rear fenders and tires, and the basic design will remain.

You can have every one of those mega dollar abortions. I'm sure they are shining stars on road courses but what a ridiculous looking vehicle for street use. Looks like something out of a Speed Racer cartoon. YUK.

Hey! Hey! Don't go bagging on Speed Racer like that. The Mach V is a good looking car compared to that. Maybe one of those villain cars. But they were meant to look villainous, not good looking.
