C8 must return to ORIGINAL design. AT LEAST ZO6 deletes tacked-on scoop +Front bloat

I don’t like that early clay design as much as the car I have. I agree that the side looks great (yes, the boomerang that OP is a bit perseverated with) but the car looks stretched. The nose looks like a bird beak and the rear end has the potential to be even worse than the busy one we have now.

I completely agree.
Id gladly take the integrated intake design of the later clay C8 I posted, or the earlier clay model you posted, then the current base C8.
The C8 design got progressively worse from the clay models, until production.

GM is fully capable of producing a mid-21 or a 2022 with that integrated side intake.
WORST CASE, GM can do so on the performance models only.

The long front overhang does look sleek, bu since the production car is already significantly longer than the C7, I suppose GM had no choice but to scale it back to keep the weight & cost down. The boomerang would look better integrated into the body, but I’m guessing they ran a separate part to integrate the door latch button underneath for easier servicing. At least Gm offers the body color boomerang for those not fond of the carbon flash.

2020 C8 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
That is the most BORING Mac ever made -- even more boring than the MP4 12c.

The current C8 front is bloated compared to the original design, and both the look and forward visibility suffer because of it.
I agree. I also prefer a short front overhang.
As with the rear, if improved storage created the bloat, and it was necessary to sell more cars, to keep the MSRP down, I still hate it, but I understand and can accept it.
The 488 GTB is the best design on the road, but I'm not willing to pay that price, especially with less reliability.

Maybe, but we are solely talking about the side intakes and comparing them.
Can you stick to the topic and give your opinion of how the side intakes compare between the McLaren GT, original C8, and current C8?
I genuinely value your opinion.

We agree on one aspect, Mr. aggressive post trimmer guy, but who cares? I have a C8 and love it, including the entire design.

Fender flares, better looking wheels, more aero.
But actually changing an exterior design? Maybe the exhaust like i had hoped but the "rang"? Nah i think that's there to stay lol.
I like it!!

At least all the tailights options were all integrated into the design, and not tacked on as an afterthought, like duct taping offroad lights to the top of the hood. The current side scoop looks like it was tacked on in the parking lot before the reveal.

I remember when the C5 was revealed. Remember how happy everyone was and how we all couldn't wait to buy one. The strike, How painful the wait was.
The C6 fixed all the design flaws of the C5, and banished the pop up headlights.
As soon as the C6 was unveiled, the C5 was dead to me.
I believe the C9 will be the same all over again.
The Team will not have to deal with the conversion from front to mid engine, and the design will be AMAZING.
The C8 design is great. But, the plastic that's been tacked on to the side intakes as an afterthought can be easily fixed, and it needs to be ASAP.

Call Tadge tomorrow and tell him you have some design changes. G.M designs the cars. We buy them - or not.

You should take the time to understand how car design actually works from clay to production. Your opinion is just that, and doesn't appear to be well informed to boot!

You don't need to be Pininfarina to recognize the original C8 side intake was a cleaner design with the integrated intake, the current intakes have plastic tacked on as an afterthought, and you don't need kill the messenger of the obvious.
