It’s ugly
Its okay to say the C8 looks great, but if you say it looks ugly you're just a troll, right? Insanity.
I think the C8 is ugly, too. I also had a deposit on one until I canceled it (for reasons unrelated to its apperance).
Opinions are okay, people. It only becomes problematic when someone is on this forum and chastises, trolls, or disrupts others who are just trying to share their opinion. Your opinion isnt worth any more just because its a positive one.

He trolls the C8 forum with negative comments constantly.
I think he just getting some of his own meds.
Frankly I dont care what folk think about the C8.
I order one because I think GM did a super job and for 94k one I ordered is exceptional value and I think it will perform great as well.

To elaborate further, there is a right way and a wrong way to express one’s opinion. For example, “I really wish the C8 didn’t have such a large trunk, it makes the car a bit long, but I understand why the Corvette designers had to incorporate it but I’m still getting one”. That is the right way to make known your grievances. Starting a thread called “it’s ugly” is just trolling to be a troll and basking in the smell of your own farts.
I find those things unappealing in a sports car, personally.
My biggest personal gripe is that I think the C8 could have had it all. Looks and value, but it just didn’t quite do it imo.
Fortunately, I can afford much more expensive cars and will be able to enjoy driving those. I’m hopeful that the Z06 or ZR1 will be enticing enough for me to add one to the garage though.

I personally love everything about the Corvette C8. I also enjoy listening to Frank Zappa... eating ribeye medium rare... drinking Guinness... watching reruns of Last Man Standing... yadda yadda yadda.
The point being that the fact that others detest some of the things I desire has no bearing on my preferences... just as I don't ever to expect my opinions to have a bearing on theirs.
So if you find the C8 ugly, that's cool.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Do you deny that?
Ferrari is not. Lamborghini is not. Porsche is not.
Again.
You may love the chaos. Nothing wrong with that. More power to you.

Interestingly, Bose's headquarters were in Framingham, MA, where GM once used to build their Olds......
C1, C4, and C6 were the only Corvettes that were not over-styled, and C4 was the cleanest and most subtle. Hot-Wheels could easily have styled the rest...including the C8. But please take note, this is just my opinion.
The answer to that question is now in. Apparently, no, they can't. This car was severely beaten with the Bennion stick.

GM was the first to develop a system that was good enough that other companies wanted to license the use of it. The Bose system was far more complex (an entire suspension system rather than just a damping system) and had far more in common with Citroen and Mercedes (ABC) systems than it does with GM's.
Rude comments like this are contributing to turning this forum (look up the definition of the word) into Twitter, or even worse, another Viper forum. Opposing opinions, if politely expressed (it was), should be welcome on any discussion forum.
A higher-center exhaust location would probably have negated the top storage in the rear compartment.
Those of us who are disappointed in the final design are also celebrating the reveal of the C8. How could we not? It's Zora's dream finally come true...though it has come decades too late. If it did look more like a Camaro, it couldn't possibly be any worse. And, yes, it would be nice if a manual becomes available.
Thanks for the "opinion primer", but we'll probably continue to think for ourselves anyway.

I loves the curves on both the C2 and C3. But to me, the C4 was the most cohesive and subtle of all the Corvettes which have now become overdone. Happy to see an ME car. Look forward to its evolution.

That means larger front and rear overhangs than a Ferrari capable of carrying an attache case. It means big radiators up front, (and side mounted to allow for a bigger frunk). It means enough room around the engine that you don't pay $1500 for an oil change. And a passenger compartment long and tall enough for someone who weighs 300 pounds and/or is well over 6 feet tall.
Is the car perfect? No, certainly not. Some of the details are very busy. I think it could be cleaned up a good bit. But overall, after spending a lot of time looking at the cars at NCM, I agree with my Porsche driving older brother: It looks bitchin'.
And to those who say it looks like a Ferrari: hogwash. It has very similar proportions, as do most mid-engine cars, but it's shapes and details say nothing but Corvette.

1. The rear end is busy... it's not bad in person, but it's the weakest part of the car. I love the tail lights, the exhaust, and the diffuser.... I guess I mainly don't like the license plate inset area.
2. A little too much C7. I liked my C7, but you can clearly see the same folks designed this car. It's softened.... literally, if you touch the body lines down the side of the car they're not as creased as the C7, but still similar design language. I guess that's more of an observation vs. a gripe. I.e. this is the car they wanted to build, but then had to do the "stop gap" C7 after GM's BK.
One other observation... GM didn't make the car overly long to fit the trunk... that space existed by the very nature of having a V8 with a DCT behind the passengers. That's a longer combo vs. say a NSX's V6. That space was naturally there over top of the DCT and it was logical to use it. Up front, you are constrained by the packaging of the wheel "boxes" (where the tires turn and live in as the suspension moves and car turns) vs. the passenger footwell needs.
There is no wasted or illogical space on this car.
The C5 was roundly criticized for being derivative and boring. Nobody, to my knowledge, called it "ugly."
I have NEVER seen a new Corvette described--repeatedly--as "ugly" except for the C8.

So, it took 50 years of mid engine development by Chevy to get this "ugly" in some eyes and yet they say it looks like an Italian sports car that they haven't said is ugly. Function over form.

I've sat in a C8 and it's definitely not ugly! Take your trolling and go somewhere else.
