Default 2LT vs 3LT

I assume that most of the traveling cars making the rounds are 3lt, but has anyone seen a 2lt? I know what the differences are on paper, but when you sit in them is there a big “wow factor” difference.

Probably the same as the C7. The wow factor will depend on how the 3LT is optioned if your going for styling points due to the extra interior colours. As far as materials go, I think the 3LT will definitely make you go wow when you feel the leather and the suede vs the 2LT mulan.

Again, this is based on the C7 but after experiencing a 3LT and a 2LT I'd never go back to 2LT. The materials being used in the trims on the C8 are the same as the C7 (Mulan leather, Nappa leather, microfiber suede) so if you want an idea go find a C7 3LT and a 2LT at a dealership and sit in them as well as feel the difference in material. If you think the 3LT is worth it on the C7, then its definitely worth it on the C8.

The 2LT's leather feels rough and almost like sandpaper. The 3LT with the leather wrapped dash, doors, quality of leather etc really elevates the entire interior!!

The 2LT with GT2 seats gets the same Napa leather on the seats as the 3LT

I'd be all over the 3LT if there was no microsuede. I will never be convinced that it can be cleaned with the same ease as leather.

By default 3LT only comes with microsuede on the upper interior. It doesn't have to be anywhere else unless you pick those options.

Not familiar with the C7s but the C6s had terrible problems with the 3LT leather dash cover delaminating from the dash due to shrinkage and glue releasing. After your warranty's up it's a $5K+ hit. Plus... who wants your dealer ripping your beautiful 3LT dash out?? This alone would keep me from EVER getting a 3LT. BTW, I don't think the new cows are bred with non-shrinking hides yet....

It happened on the C6s , the C7s and now ?? the C8s. The point being there's a distinct "chance" of it happening, IMO enough to keep ME from a 3LT. If you're getting the 3LT you have nothing but well wishes from me that it doesn't happen. I wish it on no one here. Time will tell...

You are quite the pessimist! I've seen Ferrari's, Maserati's, Jaguars's, Mercedes and so on with delaminating leather dashes. It can happen on almost any high end car. The number of cases however are very low. The ambiance of the 3LT interior by far outpaces the minute chance of the dash delaminating!

I'm not debating the point further. I said my piece and my feelings on the subject. If both of you had been around the forum longer you could see the pain of those affected over the years. It may not be as minute as you said... I'm out.

I got a 2015 3lt z and just traded on a 2019 2lt z. I ordered the pdr so I have that and I ordered black interior in both cars. Honestly the 3lt is a little nicer but not worth it to me. If I had a different color interior maybe but with the black 2lt is the way to go.

The 2LT on the C8 doesn't seem to be as good of a deal as it was on the C7. The C7 2LT very nicely split the difference between 1LT and 3LT. On the C8, the 2LT is like a whopping $8K more than 1LT, and by the time I've optioned out 2LT to what I want that comes standard with 3LT (GT2 seats and some carbon bits), I'm only a couple grand shy from full blown 3LT. I don't think 2LT is really worth it. My opinion is either go 1LT and enjoy the greatest performance bargain ever, or go 3LT and load it up. 2LT seems like the worst kind of compromise. It's almost as if GM wants you to get the higher margin 3LT...

Those "carbon bits" you're adding to the 2LT aren't standard in the 3LT either, so I hope you're adding them in to that cost, too.

I wonder is one of those clear windshield UV tints would help with this, or just religiously using a window shade would do it.

PS. I have a 3LT C6 and it has a vinyl dashboard that still looks new (the entire car looks new actually). Didn't only the 4LTs in the C6 get the leather dash?
