C8 acceleration
Porsche/Audi always give the real numbers. GM gives the numbers u can achieve once in a million.
And why Jason is so dumb to film the worst acceleration? Not everyone paid attention to the disclaimers. Now everyone thinks it a 4 sec car... lmfao...

I agree the poster shouldn't have upload this video. It makes the C8 look bad. I'm surprised he didn't get smacked for it.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
And for the "passenger, Tour mode and slightly uphill" BS believers thinking that changed much of anything are wrong. This car fell on it's face and wasn't impressive.
In the 2 video's above they both shifted at redline the C7 hit 0-60 in 2 gears it took the C8 to do it in 3 gears..
C7 Z51 vid 1st 0-41... 2nd 41-68...... 3rd 68-98.... 4th 98-125.... 5th 125-153 vid off 455HP
C8 Z51? vid 1st 0-25....2nd 25-52...… 3rd 52-79.... 4th 79-110..... 5th 110-114 vid off 495HP

I compared the C8 run to my best 3 consistent 1/4 mile runs I had from my PDR on my ZL1. As far as disclaimers, my recorded runs were all also "slightly uphill", elevation for my runs were approximately 1,300' (compared to video's 3,500'), and I didn't have a passenger, but my 265lbs lard butt was driving and I had a full tank of gas.
My ZL1 ran a full second faster 0-60, and 2.2-2.3 seconds faster 0-100, and over 2.5 seconds faster from 55-110. And also, for comparison, my recorded ZL1 runs all hit the 1/4 mile at 11.9 seconds @ 123, in the same amount of time the C8 was at 108mph.
I LOVE the look of the C8, enough to make the change back to having a Corvette as my "driver", but I'm not willing to go back if it's going to be substantially slower than what I have now. I hope that was just a horrible run we saw, but if that's going to be an indication of what the C8's "real" acceleration is going to be on the street, I'll keep my ZL1 for 2 or 3 more years, wait for the Z06, and hope that it isn't beyond my price range when it comes out.
And yeah, before the trash-talkers tear into me, I know the C8 isn't just about straight-line acceleration, but I've always been more into acceleration than "the twisties"....not many of those in my part of Kansas anyway!

BUT no way I can come close to breaking 3 seconds! In fact my tubbed ProStreet Rod designed for 0 to 60 runs, i.e. 3000 lbs, set back 502 cid BB with 53% of it's weight on the rear wheels, ridged TCI chassis with 4 bar link adjustable rear suspension, 16.5 section width (420 for those meteoric challenged) sticky Mickey Thompsons-- can't break 3 seconds (have a GTECH Pro meter. Get close but no cigar!)
Yep, Thank Goodness We're Getting into Fall (although it will still be 95 today, 97 tomorrow) and the Myrtle Beach Traffic Will Reduce!
