it looks slow as *uck. Ive read the disclaimers, but I wont buy that this is a 2+sec car. No way...Another lie from GM.

Porsche/Audi always give the real numbers. GM gives the numbers u can achieve once in a million.

And why Jason is so dumb to film the worst acceleration? Not everyone paid attention to the disclaimers. Now everyone thinks it a 4 sec car... lmfao...

Any car that can post sub 3 second 0-60 times even once under excellent conditions is a very, very fast car. My C7, A8, Z06 was a 3 second car and was wickedly fast, faster than what 99% of Corvette owners can use to its full extent. You will be a menace to society attempting to utulize that type of power to its limit in street use. How much faster than 0-60 in 3 seconds does event the most avid performance guy have use for? How often is anyone going to be doing full blown drag strip launches from red lights on public streets?

This is slower than the C7. Not just the launch but almost everything past 60 too. I hope there is more at play here than those disclaimers, because this looks slower than a mustang...

I agree the poster shouldn't have upload this video. It makes the C8 look bad. I'm surprised he didn't get smacked for it.

In my particular case I like using the 0-60 performance of my C7. And I quite often put her to floor from red lights around here where I live. Full blown baby! Too much fun!

Do either of you have one on order? They posted this video, because they want to build hype and they can't post anything of material substance. Dude rolled into it with a passenger at altitude... just enjoy it for showing how quick it runs through the gears. The car will be much faster than a C7 Z51/GS.

Sorry, the frunk is reserved for two 50# bags of horse feed.

Why did he post a video of a Prius? 4th gear sucked *****... Well all of the gears did.... Guess comparing to my Z06 was a bad thing... And yes I have one on order.. Rethinking it now and need to see some more tests, but I may cancel if more test vids show the same and with the Strike happening it's making the "late year" 2020 Corvette a bust.... I drive my cars and this video takes the wind out of my sails...

And for the "passenger, Tour mode and slightly uphill" BS believers thinking that changed much of anything are wrong. This car fell on it's face and wasn't impressive.

In the 2 video's above they both shifted at redline the C7 hit 0-60 in 2 gears it took the C8 to do it in 3 gears..
C7 Z51 vid 1st 0-41... 2nd 41-68...... 3rd 68-98.... 4th 98-125.... 5th 125-153 vid off 455HP
C8 Z51? vid 1st 0-25....2nd 25-52...… 3rd 52-79.... 4th 79-110..... 5th 110-114 vid off 495HP

I'm trying to reserve judgement until I see some "real" performance numbers released, but to be honest, that run was kind of dissapointing.

I compared the C8 run to my best 3 consistent 1/4 mile runs I had from my PDR on my ZL1. As far as disclaimers, my recorded runs were all also "slightly uphill", elevation for my runs were approximately 1,300' (compared to video's 3,500'), and I didn't have a passenger, but my 265lbs lard butt was driving and I had a full tank of gas.

My ZL1 ran a full second faster 0-60, and 2.2-2.3 seconds faster 0-100, and over 2.5 seconds faster from 55-110. And also, for comparison, my recorded ZL1 runs all hit the 1/4 mile at 11.9 seconds @ 123, in the same amount of time the C8 was at 108mph.

I LOVE the look of the C8, enough to make the change back to having a Corvette as my "driver", but I'm not willing to go back if it's going to be substantially slower than what I have now. I hope that was just a horrible run we saw, but if that's going to be an indication of what the C8's "real" acceleration is going to be on the street, I'll keep my ZL1 for 2 or 3 more years, wait for the Z06, and hope that it isn't beyond my price range when it comes out.

And yeah, before the trash-talkers tear into me, I know the C8 isn't just about straight-line acceleration, but I've always been more into acceleration than "the twisties"....not many of those in my part of Kansas anyway!

This was obviously just a fun run... He launched the car at 1,500 rpm.

Yep, I do as well. See pic for a key reason in the summer! Lots of fun as is the aggressive braking after!

BUT no way I can come close to breaking 3 seconds! In fact my tubbed ProStreet Rod designed for 0 to 60 runs, i.e. 3000 lbs, set back 502 cid BB with 53% of it's weight on the rear wheels, ridged TCI chassis with 4 bar link adjustable rear suspension, 16.5 section width (420 for those meteoric challenged) sticky Mickey Thompsons-- can't break 3 seconds (have a GTECH Pro meter. Get close but no cigar!)

Yep, Thank Goodness We're Getting into Fall (although it will still be 95 today, 97 tomorrow) and the Myrtle Beach Traffic Will Reduce!
