thank you. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. I am in the same boat. I am within the reduced total allocation for my dealer but they have not received what they expected/hoped to date. If the allocation spike of any kind happens I may still have hope for a 2020. Wish you good luck.
Sorry to hear that. You picked a small Corvette sales volume dealership. Probably less than 25 total in 2019. They're not in the top 100. At least 11 dealerships in TX with larger Corvette volume, several in the DFW area.
Classic says they are the largest......Friendly says they are the largest volume dealer since 1956......somebody is doing some funny math.
Friendly may be the largest volume dealer in total, but all that matters in buying a Corvette when demand exceeds supply is their Corvette volume. Other vehicle sales are not relevant.
Zymurgy - so, in your opinion, am I correct to be skeptical of their claim to have 11 allocations coming up next week when they've only had one allocation in the past 30 days?

I question a dealer who says they have X amount of allocation before dealers have been notified of...........well, how much allocation they are getting.

Skeptical would be putting it mildly. It is possible that allocations for March will increase over previous months, but not over 10 times as many.
How many total allocations were they told they would get for 2020? MacMulkin was told 1172. They've been getting around 70 per month. Do the math for Friendly.
Find out what your current place in line is and how many allocations they had initially. With those 2 numbers you can get a very good idea of when your order is likely to go in. I determined my month on the button back in September after the first consensus.

I went in at #10 on Feb 4th (was very late to the party.....), I am at #9 now.
I will have to ask them what their yearly allocation is.....
Zymurgy - methinks Friendly may be "exaggerating".....
I think the best thing for me is to snag either a brand new 2019 Grand Sport or a slightly used (2017-2018) Z06.
I say just go buy the 2019 GS and trade or sell in 2 years on a C8. At this point why stress and possibly not get the car.
When I hear the term "slightly used" referring to a 650 HP car, I am always skeptical how slightly it was used. Unless you are seriously tracking the car, the GS has plenty of power for the street.

I hear ya.......it's a fellow forum member that's selling it.....I've been texting him this morning, seems like a good guy.
@rcn If you are at Classic in Grapevine, there is no way they only got 1 allocation last month. If TopBeer is correct and they have 300 total allocations, then they should be getting around 15 per cycle.
Classic got 47 first allocation and 30 on the second. I'm currently 125 down from 135. If anyone at classic grapevine is getting BS numbers you have the wrong salesperson.

There's been 4 order cycles so far (Sep, Dec, Jan, Feb).

The OP finally stated Friendly Chevrolet, not Classic. Friendly isn't even on the radar as far as volume Corvette dealers....anywhere including Texas. I would bail immediately if I wanted a 2020 (or 2021 Vette for that matter).

Actually I wasn't the OP, but yes, I did call Friendly this afternoon and canceled my order.
Based on the 32 total, 1 or 2 per month is about right. 12 "in production" sounds very questionable.
question about these #s. If 32 was the original allocation and was cut by 20-25% that would take the allocation to ~25. If 2 or 3 were allocated in Sep, Dec, Jan and Feb, that gets you close to 12 in process with the remaining in status 1100. Or with such a small allocation is it unlikely that this dealer got 2-3 out of the gate in September or December?
also, with 2nd shifts is the working assumption that whatever the allocation was for February it’s a good bet it will close to double in March and the final in April?
