My first American car in decades and what a disappointment! There are so many issues, not to mention the cheap quality of the interior. There are so many little issues with this car it's ridiculous. Material coming apart because of weak glue, the Bose speaker grill is flaking all off a sudden, the passenger seat memory stops working randomly to where the seat only moves an inch before stopping. This happened before. The digital gauge sometimes shows symbols instead of numbers, the car gets incredibly dusty unlike any other cat I've owned. Leather seats already starting to show excessive wear. When I fill up the gauge will sometimes sick at half a tank when it's actually full. The design of the interior must have been done by a grade schooler because nothing lines up like a "high end" car should. Iforgot to mention the blind spots and when the sun hits the rear window, you're blinded and can't see out the back, this includes using the camera. There are so many issues with this car that's it's almost embarrassing to say I own one.
Oh and the squeaking brakes due to a known issue.
I have never had an issue with the rearview camera, driving it all different times of day. Could the lens have been dirty?
I've already laid out a pretty solid list of issues and have a couple more.
- The dash melts from the sun and peels off.
- Of course the brake squeeling which is an easy fix
- Memory seats stop working out of the blue and the seat will only move an inch at a time. No fix other than to pray and hope. I'm not wasting my money on another "fix" from GM.
- The horribly cheap interior is the worst.
This is hands down the worst American I've ever owned.
I will be putting a few hundred bullet holes in it soon. I'll post pictures. 😊
Six months into my ownership, with about 3,500 miles, and there are only a few real "issues":
When I hit about 190 miles on the odometer, the car started running rough and had a check engine light. It was due to a loose ignition coil wire and was fixed under warranty.
Some of the exterior panel fitment is questionable - like how the lower part of the "boomerang" trim on the driver's side seems to rub the door if I put pressure on it.
I've got a squeak coming from the rear passenger side of the cabin when I drive over bumps that seems to come and go.
Overall, it's great. This car is actually super smooth and polished to drive and feels like a quality item for the most part. I'll forgive the cheap turn signal stalk lol.
Engine Bay Side Panels – Discoloration and Finish Concerns
Just chiming in—I’m dealing with the same issue. The engine bay side panels look uneven and discolored. You can probably cover it up with overlays, but honestly, for what these new vettes cost, this shouldn’t be something owners have to fix themselves.

Another major failure for this piece of sh*t car. The blue shows where material has separated and cracked. This is the worst "sports" car I've ever owned.

You need to sell that POS and cut your losses. Sam

Seat Limit Switches: don't store anything behind the seat.
If perhaps "something" is behind the seat, stopping full movement, codes B109D & E may be set and need to be cleared.
Clear them and then do a soft reset with the door open or battery disconnected.
guys … sorry to hear a bout the cosmetic flaws and I agree it’s very disapointing ..
lbut take a look at this screen shot and maybe this will renew your faith in the c8 … this is legit and it’s not AI.. on my 3 rd pull I did 0-60 in 2.6 sec…and was able to repeat it 3x .. I challenge any one to find a $90k car that can do this…I’ve owned c6,c7 & this c8 and I’ve been out to Ron fellow’s and raced the c7 & c8 and for the money you can’t beat the performance this car delivers
hang in there and try not to get too hung up on the cosmetic stuf and drive it like you stole it and you’ll love it
👍😎
amen brother it’s an Adrenalin rush for sure
ive seen several other folks post the same 0-60 times so its very attainable.. mine is 2023 Z51 2 LT bone stock I had it set to race mode level 2 .. used launch control and hooked it after 3 pulls …rock on👍😎
Found strange bungee type cord inside center fusebox bezel cover of my C8 2022.
Anyone know their function? Bungee like cord attaches speaker cover to bezel. Bungee like cord attaches bezel to car body.
jeffpb3.. not sure .. but if I had to guess .. those bungee strings are likely installed by Chevrolet to insure the screws don’t get dropped down into the cavity below when they are removed?
Just want to throw these possible solutions, not sure they’ll help. I didn’t see your earlier messages so I may be way off.
I just removed the center waterfall cover over the center fuse box, which requires unplugging the phone charger. When I started the car the infotainment display was dark along with the row of switches. When I plugged it back in, everything turned on.
I’ve accidentally turned off the dimmer button several times, but that blacken both screens.
