Just to add a positive note to the thread, just turned 33k miles on my 22 HTC and zero problems.
yep and heres another positive note… I got 2.6 s on 3rd pull 0-60 on my 23 2LT Z51 Coupe bone stock this summer … currently have 6500 miles of trouble free driving… thank you Chevrolet for getting it right!
It's too bad there isn't more people who chime in on how good their car has been. Min also, 12k miles and zero issues. MOST are like this.
Some do. I sound off when I see someone trashing a C8 like every C8 has an issue. I've owned one of every generation Corvette since the C4 and have only had two very minor repairs. Only one of those repairs required an overnight stay for my car. My dealer didn't have the part. They gave me a loaner.

When people post in a section called "C8 Problems" I don't think you can expect to see too many posts of folks saying how good their car is quite frankly; and by default people are going to post "problems"!
I enjoy my C8 and the driving experience BUT if you ask me have I had any problems then I will tell you the truth and say "Yes I have". I'm at 34,000 miles and am on my 4th transmission. Two failed as a direct result of a lack of QC/QA during the assembly process (a very porous case and a cracked case), the third was a DCT mechanical bearing failure. The front struts failed at 24,000 miles. In all, the C8 has been off the road for 15 weeks over the past 3 years.
A combination of an excellent dealer, knowledgeable service writer and an A1 technician as meant that my issues have been expeditiously handled and (hopefully) now finally resolved. The GM Exec Admin Team also helped (to a degree) in maintaining some customer goodwill.
Sure my C8 is just one of the many out there, but I doubt many of the others had a better or worse QA/QC experience - to GM it's a numbers game that they feel plays into their benefit with the cost savings of minimizing the QA/QC being more than the cost of replacing a percentage of components. I've just been lucky in getting several bad examples of the DCT's, I guess

ROBBC… Sorry to hear it…sounds like you were dealt a bad hand and were part of the early 2020-2022 released c8s which were definitely flawed with the tranny castings…I hesitated before pulling the trigger because of the posts I read on this forum and waited until the 2023 models were rolling off the assy line…and I got lucky and haven’t had any problems…..I can’t imagine the disappointment but glad to hear all is well with the car now..keep the faith man and keep us posted going forward
I'm also sorry to hear of your problems, RobbC. For all those issues, to have had your car out of service for 15 weeks seems less than what I'd imagine it could have been. At least your dealer and tech team have been superior in their support. That's the saving grace here, I suppose. I hope your C8 is past those issues and that you can enjoy the ride from here on out. I've got a '24 Z51 HTC with 7K miles and no issues this first full year of ownership. It's the best car I've ever owned... but I wouldn't be saying that if I was on my fourth DCT. Best of luck moving forward!
Hi everyone, my car is less than a week old and for some reason I'm getting some suspension noise when I full turn at low speeds (parking lots). It's like a clanking. Seems like I'm either getting rubbing or if the struts are "dropping into place". Has anyone experienced this? Dont want to take it to service if there's a valid reason for this, but it's my 46th vehicle and never experienced this.
Thanks in advance for any input

This is for a 25 HTC z51 with front auto lift in case that information is needed 😀
It's new, under warranty and the noise is significant to you. Bring it in - it could get worse if it turns out to something serious.
My 23 C8 HTC #2 has the front end lift - C8 #1 (it was bought back) had front lift that was relatively quiet for the 4 months I had the car.
When current C8 #2 arrived Oct 2022, I noticed the front lift was slightly louder; not 'clangly' loud but the raising motion was 'louder'.
Now in 2025, the car has 28K miles on it (27 months old) - the front lift is slightly noisier.
But nothing on my car clanks when turning (and I have to park in a garage at work with many turns).
Take your car in and have it checked out - no reason to be concerned that it's a non-issue.
Thanks for the responses. I'll pay a bit more attention to the exact trigger and the noise to be able to verbalize it appropriately to service and take it in. I'll circle back with you all in the event that it's anything abnormal.

There's a good chance there's nothing wrong with your car. Wide tires and a limited slip differential will produce tire "chirps" on tight turns. Vettes have been doing it since the C6s.

What does that have to do with a noisey front lift system which was the descibed problem?
Thanks again everyone, this make be completely nothing and just a guy that's new to the Vette landscape. I wanted to make sure I was leveraging everyone's experience here to make an informed decision. It's set to snow this weekend, but when I take it back out next week I will pay more attention to the triggers and apply the points mentioned by you all to determine whether a dealer visit is required.
I appreciate the warmth and support from you all.
Stay well
I’m betting this is your “issue” It is indeed alarming if you’re unaware and haven’t experienced before. This particular article doesn’t mention noise, but a rubbing, grinding type noise is a typical part of the “effect”. If so, consider it “normal”

As promised, paid added attention to the triggers and this article is on point with the situation. In addition to the situation, the 20 degree weather I would imagine further exacerbates the effect. THANK YOU a bunch for this, brings great peace of mind 😀
