I had 2016 C7 for 60K miles non-Z51 - traded in on 2023 C8 HTC Z51
The 2023 C8 tire noise (have 14K miles now) started to get louder around ~10K miles.
And it definitely seems louder than my C7 ever did.
Obviously different car/non-Z51/Z51 and different tires, but still surprising.
I've heard that run flat tires tend to get louder as they age but on the C8 it definitely seems louder than my previous C7.
Unclear how much Z51 would contribute here (if any) to straight continuous driving tire noise.
At Ron Fellows they did state that the summer tires on the Z51 are noisier.

Interesting. When I was there in June I couldn't tell a difference between those tires and the all-seasons I have on my non-Z51 C8........but to be honest I wasn't paying attention to ride quality while I was there.
Yes, the AS4 tires are quieter than the S4s or S5s... but I'd rather say they're less noisy, since they're not quiet by any means. In fact, the AS4s are one of the (if not the) noisiest UHP AS tires. I expected better from Michelin... but they perform very well otherwise.
Hello all and Merry Christmas.
i have a 2021 C8, I continue to have the same problem.
If I sit in my car and push the start button and not brake pedal (accessory mode) the battery low start vehicle light comes on. First time happened in 2022. Then 1 year later it know has gone on for months. The dealer has recharged then next time new battery, then recharged, held for 1 month, probably doing nothing except charging Chevy. Next day same thing, brought back , replaced battery, next day battery low again. I just put it in on Friday December 22 again. I am worried, my warranty end February 2024.
i have a few questions for anyone that can help me?
1. Lemon law?
2. Go to another dealer?
3. Does anyone know what this problem could be caused from?
please help and thank you.
Joe

I'd check the voltage across the battery terminals when it gives you the message. Then ask the dealership if that voltage is acceptable. If not there is something wrong with the battery or something is draining it. If it is acceptable then the message is in error and needs to be addressed. My guess is if the voltage is lower than 11V then there is something wrong with the battery or the car is draining it.
Thank you for the quick response. Below are the things Chevy should be checking when I bring the car there every time. My car is still under warranty and they are supposed to be the experts. I just thought someone might have had the same problem and supply me with a quick fix or at least know what the problem is.
Thank you for your help.
Parasitic Drain - If the electrical devices in your car or the lights on your car are left running even when your ignition is off, they will suck the juice out of your battery slowly but dramatically. This is often eerily described as parasitic drain.
Defective charging system - A car battery drains quickly if something called the alternator on your charging system fails to push out enough voltage, ideally between 13.5 - 14.5 volts. In this case, the battery will continue to drain even while the car is running.
Defective alternator diodes - Alternatively, the alternator could have defective diodes which would drain the life out of your battery

Get the battery tender, especially if you’re not driving it every day. There are several systems running even when vehicle is turned off, so it will drain battery if left sitting.

Does the car start normally, or do you only get this message in accessory mode? Do you get any error message when trying to start the car?
It starts up one shot all the time.
it only happens seconds after in accessory mode.
It's only reporting excess battery drain when put into accessory mode.. If it is starting with no problem, that may just be an erroneous report. Your dealer should be able to see this in your car's computer … if it's throwing a code. If your car does start fine, and you only see this in accessory mode, it's probably not the battery. You can prove this by leaving the car on a tender until it shows a full charge, then put it in accessory mode with and without the tender attached. If it still gives you that message, whatever is used to monitor the battery voltage when in accessory mode is not working properly.
If it's s true parasitic drain, I can’t believe you'd be able to start the car with no issues.
Has anyone noticed faint, constant squeaky background noises in their PDR recordings? When the radio is off, the noises are more obvious in the recording.
Those noises are recorded even when the car is stationary, with the engine running. I do not hear any such sounds in the cabin, so I think it’s either some electronic noise, or the mounting of the PDR is loose and the engine vibration is causing some faint squeaking that is not audible in the cabin, but the microphone picks it up.
Any thoughts or ideas on how to troubleshoot it?

Just spitballing here but I'd suspect the microphone is picking up something close to it that you can't hear (trim squeak or something like that). There are microphones in the doors but I don't know if these are the same microphones that the PDR uses.
Another possibility is that (if the same microphones that are in the door are used for the PDR) is that there is some feedback from the ANR system.
Bottom line is if you are are still under the B2B warranty I'd take it in for service. I don't notice that squeak but I don't listen to my recordings often.
Good morning all. I received my Corvette back from the dealer yesterday. The service advisor told me the mechanic had no clue why this was happening so, he tried other C8 in the shop and supposedly they all did the same thing. You put in accessory mode and as soon as you turn something on the battery low start vehicle comes on. The service advisor told me this is a normal operations for the C8 c.
Can anyone tell me if they are just blowing smoke up my _ _ _ or what?
Also, if anyone who has a c8 can they please check this for me.
Thank you for your help,
Joe

My 2020 doesn't have this problem. Eventually the low battery warning will come on in accessory mode but it takes a while. There is either something wrong with your battery or something wrong with your car. Your paperwork should show whether or not they tested the battery and, if so, what the results were. If your car starts fine then I'd suspect the car although your car may still start with the low battery indication.
