Look at his post again. He was replying to the post from @LS WON talking about heat in the C6-C7's. Although both were off-topic in a conversation about heat in the C8 frunk, @Minkster 's reply made perfect sense to the post immediately preceding it.
Anyone else have a problem with the center console button?
This is actually a common issue. The plastic latch breaks easily, and will pop out when the console cover is closed. Mine still worked, but I had to push it back in place.
Took my dealer two weeks to get the part and replace it under warranty. New one has been fine. Really a very minor issue, with a simple fix. The console does NOT have to be replaced, just the latch. It was about a ten minute job.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't know it was a common problem. I've never seen it mentioned. Glad to hear it doesn't require half the car to be taken apart to fix.

I haven’t seen it discussed here, but it shows up on some of the FB groups. Dealer said they have done a few already.

Is the part that's needed listed anywhere along with a diagram?
I found the button (part # 84854320) on a Chevrolet parts sight. The pic showed a rod sticking out the back of the button with a "hook" on the end which I assume limits travel. Maybe that's what breaks. Do you think that's all that requires replacing?
New problem…here is the view of the passenger mirror when I unlock the car. I turned off the auto fold and returned it to the normal spot manually. I’ll be visiting my dealership in the next few days 🤷🏻♂️

By appearance it looks like it was bumped and rotated like most other breakaway mirrors. I’m guessing you need to reset it manually by twisting it back to the indent.

That is what I thought at first. It happen every time I open the car, if I have auto fold on. The manager at the dealership said he needs to take pictures to submit them to GM for a replacement.
I have a 22. In the initial 800 miles it threw a CEL. Car acted/drove perfectly normal. Light went out before getting to dealer which was three days later. Once there, I asked that they pull the code(s). It had the general 0607 code and a tranny code (not sure which). Dealer kept it overnight as the had to consult with GM Technology for the fix. Initially GMT told them to replace the DCT TCM. It was/is supposedly out of stock. So I drove it home…
Three days later my dealer Tech called me. Said GM Tech contacted him about my car. New TCM no longer needed they can send code to remedy. GMT said they’ve seen this code in about 100 cars (over a year ago).
GMT asked him to ask me some specific questions. One of which was; am I or did I ever experience a WHINE from the driveline area? (Answer no) They said the WHINE is sometimes present and has been associated with this code. That it’s cause by a signal fault the creates “high pressure” (in the DCT lines/pump(s)) Said its not a big issue short term, but is long term if driven. But I reiterated, I have no whine. Because of that and the fact that the car had no active codes (only stored) it would be okay to drive until such time as I can get it back into the dealer for the TCM reflash.
My Tech said he’s not seen any sort of TSB from GM on this issue yet. Expects one is forthcoming.
If I had a driveline whine, I’d ask the local Tech contact GMT and get the particulars of high pressure DCT fluid/pump WHINE, the cause and remedy…
8k+ miles since the reflash/code send and no issues whatsoever…
I spent a crazy amount of time going through this thread....retired guy privilege, lol. Seeing that Chevy has pumped out over 50,000 2023 Vettes this year, and probably at least 40,000 of them have hit the road by now, how well do you think Chevy did in the QC area? I have a 24 on order and reading stuff like this makes me nervous. I understand this thread is just a small snippet of the whole picture, but it can get ones attention. So all in all, can we say the recent C8's are reliable and durable cars in general?(engineered to take a beating on a track, right?) I've had some expensive cars break my heart before, but always had good luck with Chevy's.
