The trunk gets hot no matter what. It's OK for luggage, clubs, and gym stuff, but I would use the Frunk for any perishable groceries.

Sorry if this has been beaten to death but trying to research options since my turn on the wait list should be coming up in a few months.

Saw a bunch of posts in 2021 about the HTC having lining issues (amongst other problems), anyone know if the recent models still have the same issues and breaking problems? I'm right on the fence if I want the HTC or not, but if it's as bad as I was seeing 2 years ago it gives me a good excuse to save 7k.

Uh might be miswording it. But from the threads I was reading the HTC isn't lined up correctly or something causing one side to be not completely sealed.
And maybe unrelated, other threads were talking about how the sensors would go off about it not being closed properly due to misalignment causing it to get "stuck" despite being fine.

don't know if the 2 are related, but in general just questioning if they've (mostly) ironed out the bugs with it by now.

I think I have only heard of this one time. I have heard of more issues with the mechanism getting stuck, broken, or misaligned causing SMC panel damage, etc. However even those instances appear to be very low. Actually, I am somewhat surprised there are so few complaints of issues with the HTC. My concern over it and the desire to be able to work on my engine easier were my reasons for going with a coupe, but I am really on the fence now for the ERay and leaning more towards the HTC. I think with the Z06, I would want to be able to see that LT5, but with the ERay it's just the LT2, meh, might be nice to be able to push a button and top goes down and still have a trunk to work with!

Two years old and zero problems with my 21 HTC operating exactly like it should every time I use it.

One and a half years old and 7800 miles and zero issues on my 22 HTC Z51 except for a mail in a rear tire. Changed out the summer tires and the ride is so much quieter and smoother as measured by my better half. I agree with that also. Sam

Unfortunately my car went off to the dealer today on a flatbed. Wouldn’t shift in to any gear - including reverse. Had problems yesterday with horrible shifting and now seems like it’s given up the ghost.

That's terrible. Please let us know the diagnosis. Were you able to get it into neutral to load it onto the flatbed? That's been one of my nightmares.

Thanks. Yes, it did go into neutral. Dealer just called and they will replace the transmission valve body - should be done in about a week.

Not very happy about this with such a new car.

Hoping you will get it back and no more problems with it.

This happened to me in my 2020 MY. Mine became misaligned and caused some minor damage to the lid. Fixed by the dealer under warranty.

I use the top mechanism a lot (like every time I get in it).

Default Radio volume blasting at start up

At start up the radio volume blasts for 2-4 seconds before going quiet and connecting to Sirus/XM at normal volumes. I've already checked the settings for startup and radio volume and lowered that to normal. It doesn't happen every time I start the car though, just periodically. It all started when my 4-year grandson put the car in accessory mode and turned the volume way up. Any thoughts on how avoid this? Thanks

All Corvettes/generations of Corvettes get hot as noted from the C-6 to C-7 you have the rear differential, transmission, exhaust in the rear that creates heat that creeps up into storage area and passenger space.
C-3 1968-1972 I know especially on the big blocks on my 1972 454 Coupe with Air conditioning that I had to use at night as the heat poured in from the motor directly into passenger/driver compartment and it was like driving with a furnace on.
Owners of small blocks 68-72 (327 and 350 engines) have told me the same problem with the heat except not as bad as the big block Corvettes of this era.

My 2020 HTC has been fantastic. So glad I changed from the Coup to the HTC

The Lotus motto is "For the driver"

Test drive an Evora GT to see why. It has been very reliable because there are few electronic gizmo sensors and it has a Toyota/Edelbrock powertrain.

I've had 3 C6 Z06's, currently an '11 Carbon Edition, and driven cross country 12-13 hours per day carrying various items including snacks and food in the back, and never had any excessive heat issues back there. Everything was at normal temps at gas stops and end of the day.

Totally apples and oranges. The C6 front engine has very little heating of the trunk. The rear engine C8 has exhaust plumbing surrounding the trunk - major difference
