maui first let me say thank you for starting this post it has been an invaluable tool and sorry to hear about the collision with the deer… we’ll keep our eyes and ears open for your body pnl…hang in there man
when I got hit by a deer in South Carolina it took 3 months to get the rear quarter panels. Yes, there are 2 pieces needed. Your local Chevy dealer can order the parts as your repair shop can. Should not be a big issue. Good luck.
I just traveled 600 miles in my new (700 miles on odo) in one day. My wife thought the her bag had a new car kinda plastic smell after the time in the trunk.
Thinking all the new plastic in the trunk is to blame. A hot smell, but no exhaust smell that I could tell.
Others here have complained of exhaust smell and also fuel smell in the trunk. I don't think that is normal and would advise asking the service dept. next time you take your car in.
I never leave my car when doing an update. Have the frunk and driver window open just in case a failed update makes me have to disconnect the battery. I've never had one fail (so far) and never had one take over 10 minutes (most have been under 5).
Don't have to hover or take any trim out. Just sit in the driver's seat and listen to a cool song or two on the radio until the update completes. Then, in the rare circumstance that the update has a problem, you will be there.
Sorry if your C8 has had some problems, but if your patience is really shot then maybe it's time to trade for something more "dependable".
What has the car world come to with all of these informant systems, sensors, computers all of which are distractions to take away the driver's attention making it a public safety issue.. They make all of these new cars built around a cellphone and video game screens. What happened to the "driver cars"?

This is a C8 problem? I love all of the gadgets and is a drivers car! Mid engine is a beast.
My daily driver has been at dealer since 7/13, had to be towed after shutting down while driving and would not restart. Problem started after driving in sport mode, manual shifting then switching to tour mode automatic shifting. Had been driving for a while before taking off in sport mode, engine and trans temps were warmed up and normal. Upon switching mode, transmission sounded like something was wrong. Almost a grinding noise that stopped after about one mile. Upon leaving from next stop, after starting and backing up, shifting to drive in tour mode, drove 50' and car shut down. Would not restart. Tow truck arrived with flatbed, but driver was unable to get trans in neutral after 30 minutes, so another tow truck was sent to lift by rear wheels.
After four days at dealer, the service advisor arranged a loaner and said the starter had to be replaced the next day. Replacing the starter did not solve the problem. Per the service advisor there were numerous error code issues, and that Corvette engineering were advising the service tech to perform multiple tests.
Been watching this for a while and while I don't have the new, technically advanced C8, I do still have my old '07 Velocity Yellow Z51 "stick" coupe. And still get from everyone that I pass. Good for the guys who've had little to no issues and really feel for the guys who are having issues with their new "bad boys". Hope that they'll be resolved and quickly, so that you can get back out there and enjoy your Corvette, like it should be enjoyed. Still . . . nothing like driving a Super Bad Corvette .
I have PDR shadow in the upper left corner. It’s not obstructed in any way, even went back to view new delivery day and it was there, just didn’t notice. I seem to be only one with this, so maybe a bad lens.
May be nothing wrong many times it’s simply the sun’s angle. Move into a shaded area or your garage to see if you get that shadow.
As I mentioned I reviewed back to delivery day and it was there then. I assume the camera is faulty, or out of adjustment. I’ll get it checked with my headlight paint
No exhaust smell for me either, even though it does get quite warm in there.
Does it get hot in the trunk even when driving around town or just on long road trips? The C8 would be my daily driver, so I'll be putting golf clubs, gym bag, son's school bag, groceries, etc in the trunk
