C8 problems
"The transmission filter change is not included in the free maintenance, however some dealers have special offers for Corvette customers. Ultimately, we would recommend reaching out to your dealer to confirm what their pricing would be for this service."
Anyone know if one can change it out at home ?
Looks like they may have added the transmission filter for the 2021. The 2020 "Complete Chevy Care" doesn't mention the transmission filter.
Count on the right crew for your pit stops.
Owners of the 2020 Corvette enjoy one complimentary maintenance visit†, including an oil change (Mobil 1® is required) and multi-point vehicle inspection, if completed in the first 12 months of ownership. Owners of the 2019 Corvette receive two included maintenance visits†.Last edited by vette2021HTC; Dec 22, 2020 at 09:21 PM.
Should they try to tell us 2020's are not included for the DCT filter, it might be time for Concierge to get 20,000 or so inquiries, asking why not.
I'm not making a joke. Car and Driver ? Road and Track ?
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

Even Jeep gives more than that on their new vehicles: 3 oil changes & tire rotations in the first 36 months plus free same day rental car for routine maintenance appointments & a dedicated 24/7 support line. With many other manufacturers covering all required maintenance for 24, 36, 48 months, etc. you’d thing Chevy would step up their game for Corvette owners.
What you are telling me indicates the C8 has Lucas parts, the prince of darkness !
My C8 - VIN 11229, frunk solenoid issue fixed, 1886 miles, with no other issues so far. Love the car, worth any new car issue risks to me and this thread, for the most part, is informative, makes me look at stuff and worth reading.
I did a quick search and haven’t seen anyone else mention, other than a guy on YT, about the front upper strut mount bolts rusting, due to water, from pressure washing gathering in the bolt areas, causing the rust. THEN, he shows two plastic covers, for $50, to fix the issue. You have to remove the battery/fluid cover to inspect, but I’m not going to pay big money for two 7”x 7” plastic pieces, in case I find mine in that condition. I’ll make them for a lot less money. He said he doesn’t represent the manufacturer, but endorses them. Covers look good, but too high a cost for me.

Want to hear a rip off ? The catalytic converter was cut out of my Honda S 2000 while it was being transported to my home by Montway/White Arrow Transport. They fought my claim like hell. Then their Insurer ( Lancer ) fought hard. Silly people !
The local Honda dealer billed 145.00/hr plus parts, and collected just under 5800.00 for the work ! I got it back today.

S2000. My mom had one when they first came out. That was a nice car for its time. Smooth high reviving little beast.
I'm assuming there is a point where you haven't fully broken in the DTC and you need to make sure the filter is changed after that point.

I'll check it out tomorrow and see if its the same.

Now, I’m an over achiever with my cars. I analyze what I’ve seen from the forums and cross reference from what I learned from others and I’ve always have had good luck with cars. I will be changing my oil the first 1K miles then every 3K after. I also will be tracking my car at least 6 weekends a year. At that point I’ll change oil before and after every track weekend. That’s what I do.
Now for the DCT I‘ll be adding the 2 extra quarts you would for track duty the day my car leaves the dealer. Piece of mind. Then I’ll probably change the DCT filter about 3K miles the first time then after every weekend of track duty I’ll change the filter and oil. The manual recommends every 24 hours of track. But I’m strict when it comes to fluids. I fill it’s a piece of mind and being I’ll do it myself it really isn’t that expensive at all.
