2025 C8 Stingray of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
2024 C8 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
Front brakes making bad scraping noise (same as if pads were worn out) when coming to a stop. Two weeks old, 800 miles, break in guidelines followed to the letter. Will be checked by dealer at appointment to address non-operative drivers side DRL and popping/creaking sound behind seats over bumps and broken console lid latch.
32,500 miles on my 3LT loaded coupe. 29,000 miles replaced the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 series tires. They wore perfectly and still had miles left. Never balanced them, never did an alignment. I have only taken C8 to the dealer for required maintenance. Best car I've ever owned.
Driver seat fan causing vibrations when in use. Part waiting for install.
Power steering fault. Module replaced under warranty.
Thousands of imperfections in windshield. On backorder for nearly a month and counting.
Passenger window drops an 1 1/2 inch when closed during hot weather. I’ve re-indexed numerous times.
Frunk refuses to open on occasion.
Seat memory doesn’t always work. Both on entry and exit.
Steering wheel not centered since delivery. Vehicle needs an alignment. Waiting for windshield to arrive so dealer can perform.
Still trying to enjoy the car, but my patience is wearing thin.
After owning 6 Corvettes, I have decided that my 2017 Grand Sport convertible is the last. In the Spring I am trading it in on a Lexus LC500 convertible. Those cars are issue free. I believe Chevy has made a car that was too complicated for them. After 6 years of production no one should be having so many issues.
I have a 2024 C8 with a transmission or differential gear whine most noticed between 50 and 60 MPH. Other friends with C8's have also noted this whine at the same MPH. I could hear this whine on vehicle delivery, it has not gotten worse and performs as expected. For an almost $90,000 car not sure that this should be normal. Just looking for someone else who may be hearing the same noise.
I have a similar whine on mine ('23 with 18,000 miles) and it's also clear that my wife's car ('21 with 35k miles) does not have it. It's faint and has been there almost since the beginning and has not gotten worse, so I have not mentioned it to the service advisor. I may say something before the end of the warranty period.
Sorry to hear about the headaches.....it sounds like you unfortunately got stuck with a lemon...the car definitely has a lot hi-technology driven elements that can go wrong but when they are all working right...the car is amazing...and it will be worth it..so stay strong and hound the dealer until they get it right...and thank you for your service vettenevodrvr

UPDATE: Seat fan replaced, windshield replaced, and alignment performed. Everything is nominal except steering wheel which is still slightly off center.
@vettenevodrvr - when I first bought my C8 the steering wheel was quite a bit off center. I took it to the dealer and they did a front end alignment to get it centered. It's still slightly off center but the service rep said the alignment guys spent a lot of time on it and don't think they can get it any better. I decided to live with it it really doesn't stand out except to me.

I would definitely lemon law that vehicle and try again with another C8. C8's are great cars when they are built good and running good.
Was folding my mirrors back out and realized that the driver's side just won't go back into place anymore... Hope the GM extended protection plan I bought covers this. Has anyone else had this problem with either the driver's side or passenger's side mirror? My car is a 2LT and does NOT have the motorized movement for the mirrors, if you couldn't tell by the fact that I am moving them manually. 2LT and 3LTs are supposed to have motorized folding mirrors. Only the 1LTs don't have motorized mirrors. The button is on the drivers side door armrest below the mirror adjustment buttons. They can be manually moved in an emergency but I don't know what regularly manually moving them does.

Looks like pressing that button twice moved it back into the right spot... dude, you just saved me a trip to the dealer where they would have had me looking stupid. Thank you so much. For whatever reason I was convinced this was a 3LT thing and never wondered what that extra button did, because I thought it was automatic to have the mirrors move when you start the car or something. I haven't been moving the mirrors often because they aren't typically in the way but I was doing some work on my other car and kept almost bumping into the mirror, which is why I was moving it and ran into this problem when I moved it back.
I wonder if this is some sort of safety feature, or if something just got stuck. All I did was press the button twice and it locked into the proper position. I think from now on I will avoid moving them manually if I can help it.
Can anyone provide any common issues with the car to look out for? Also, i there a point where you pass in mileage & know you're "safe" that you got a good transmission?
