I read this article and noticed it's for year 2020. I have a 2023. I don't get a message that the hood (frunk) is open, just that the speed is limited to 82 mph. I've open and closed frunks several times.
Not sure if any other system would limit the C8's speed to 82 mph. I'm hoping it may be a faulty sensor that's not reading correctly.
Got my Z back and in the detail shop for PPF. The shop tried to lower the top and now the tonneau cover is stuck in the upright position. The car will roll the windows down when I hit the convertible button but will not move the top and says 'top not secure'.
I had them plug it into the battery tender and we may unplug the battery to get it to reset. The car has 200 miles on it so this is disappointing, the dealer says my only option is to have it towed back to the dealer with the tonneau up, Anybody have any other suggestions?
Forgot to mention the car has 200 miles and I've operated the convertible top exactly twice.

Make sure the rubber oil filler cap is in place and not fouling the top sensor. And make sure the trunk lid is securely closed but don't open it with the tonneau cover open.
Try rattling the tonneau cover a little. My car had an electrical open circuit and the top drifted shut when I did that. I had operated my top many times before I had my problem, but the symptom was the same. The only reason I tried rattling the top was because I was desperate. There was no way in hell I was going to let them flat bed my car with the tonneau up. The car limits top operation to 30 mph. Unless you has a dealer near by and a tow truck driver willing to keep his speed less than 30 mph I wouldn't risk it if I were you.
Just an update to everyone on this forum (and also the folks who are fed up with the C8)...on my 3rd pull..I got 2.6s on the 0-60 run...see attached....the car is a 2023 Z51 2LT...no mods...the car is amazing and worth every penny...conditions were 70 degrees F; sea level altitude & 68% RH...

Not off to a great start. 2024 1LT coupe 1 week old, 600 miles: 1) Very small paint chip from headlight/fender misalignment, (unfortunately common) Dealer noted at delivery. 2) Broken center console latch, (part on order). 3) Extra production bolt rolling around on engine cradle hitting body during acceleration, stop, turn, etc. Resolved. Fished out by dealer. 4) Drivers side DRL dead. Appt with dealer next week.
Hope this is the end of the issues for this car. Traded in a '23 that was perfect over 12,000 miles.

I have a 2024 C8 with a transmission or differential gear whine most noticed between 50 and 60 MPH. Other friends with C8's have also noted this whine at the same MPH. I could hear this whine on vehicle delivery, it has not gotten worse and performs as expected. For an almost $90,000 car not sure that this should be normal. Just looking for someone else who may be hearing the same noise.

Just in the process of having a new trans installed on my 2022 based on a whine in the 50 to 60 range (mostly)on light or trailing throttle. GM's first answer was to put some miles on it and see but after over 20,000 miles it became worse than ever; I wish I had kept complaining about it right at the start.

I've had the whine since new. I have to hold the car at "neutral" throttle to hear it (not accelerating nor accelerating) around 60 MPH. I don't hear it with the audio system playing. I was told it was normal and it hasn't changed for 12K miles.
This thread makes me paranoid.....until I drive my car.
I think the paranoid ones are those complaining about a slight gear whine at one specific speed under a very specific throttle conition, that most people probably can't hear over the normal tire noise anyway.

If it were slight it wouldn't be an issue, and it is under a variety of speeds, throttle settings and conditions; and, yes, it is very noticeable over the tyre noise.

By GM standards, just about everything is "normal"! My second transmission had the whine since new; at 2,600 miles it was classified as "normal". It bugged me for the next 23,000 miles but then I decided that it needed more attention because I just was not happy with it,period. The dealer didn't think GM would see it any differently but I told them I wanted to raise it as a case with the area representative and for recordings of it to be made to GM standards (PICO). The GM Tech folks listened to the recording and authorized another new transmission. If you think yours is not right I would insist on a GM Tech review..

The audio system is designed to cancel out noises like that. Google it.
Its now normal. I just drove 2300 miles last week with my stereo off 90% of the time and didnt notice it. Im also very sensitive to new sounds once I get to know the car and I can tell 90% of the time when it drops from 8cyl to 4cyl but most people say they cant hear or feel anything.
